Post Ludum: Krillis Korralled

What was going on in this world?  Theories as to why cavemen were in zero g along with Romans?  Comments, suggestions, ideas?

This world needs a bit of fleshing out.

Well, you see...

...

Um...

The Romans have somehow developed technology or have taken hold of such a high-tech facility.  They used the zero-g chamber as a prison for the others (rather than my first theory that it was an experiment).  Um...that's as far as I can get.  I'm interested in seeing what you say about it, lol.

Re: Post Ludum: Krillis Korralled

There is a short story of this universe in which FTL is actually rediculously easy to acheive, and so as a result almost all other civilizations are retarded technologically because they never have a driving need to boost their technology...so they land on earth and see we don't have Anti Grav, and think we're easy, until they run into electronics, ICE, machine guns etc. (They do have cannons).

This world reminds me of that.

Re: Post Ludum: Krillis Korralled

Day, I've ran that world.  Twice. Both times I killed off my versers...very, very quickly.  It surprised me.  I'd have thought the versers with modern weapons would have plowed through the musketeer using aliens.

Situation in this world Krillis is borrowed from a couple of books I've read.

There is a large and not too nice Galactic culture.  Its not nearly as hi-tech as the world Tom Day is in, but it is long-standing, and the various races have worked out some conventions for dealing with each other.  They also do have some rather incredible tech (although nothing like the Megastructure Tom is in.)

But they fight amongst each other.  However, with their planet-slagging weapons this could be problematic.

Solution--go out and find some low-tech primitives and kidnap them.  Confine them,a nd tote them to a battlefield where they meet some other representatives of another alien who's done likewise.

So the Romans get to mutually meet and slaughter the Blue People from Deneb until one side wins,a nd the aliens finish up the peace negotiations.  And then a month or two later they get to fight the Turtle Men of Rigel...if they refuse, the alien overlords can reduce the oxygen in their room until they reconsider.

There are different tech levels of human groups in the spaceship.  Because certain aliens stipulate various rules (like pre-gunpowder or no steel, or ....) for a conflict.
