Radix Gather

Thoughts? Comments?

I suspect Krillis had something more investigative and subtle in mind, but I took it elsewhere and mangled some of his characters, to boot...but in a good cause.

Ok, I'm trying to leave for the weekend.  Feel free to start the party.

Re: Radix Gather

I liked it, and I felt that it was an excellent landscape for Hadrian to show what he was capable of.

Truthfully though, I have to admit I liked it better with Krillis in charge. Once you took over PT I was afraid that I was going to verse out at every fork in the road. You did good though, and I ended up having an awesome time fighting the demons :)

Re: Radix Gather

Amanda:
That was fun and it was great seeing other Versers in action and Oak I enjoyed your company alot.

I also enjoyed the chance to encounter other versers, spending a bit of quality time with Day and a lot of quality time with Amanda.  I was away for the "McCallister's Mob" Gather, and I ran the "AWOL Animator Angst" Gather, so the last (and only other) Gather I've had a chance to play in was way back in "Heartwar".

Hmmm...  I just noticed that we seem to have a lot of gathers in contemporary settings.  Is that by design or coincidence?

The setting was interesting, and I enjoyed it.

However, I did have a nagging feeling that the angels and demons we encountered were a bit too... wimpy, I suppose.  My impression of angels are that a glimpse of them would make us fall on our face in trembling fear and reverence, and a glimpse of demons would be similarly powerful in producing either terror or temptation.  I wouldn't think that even powerful versers would be any match whatsoever for them.  Only through prayer should we have any chance at all.

But on the other hand, Jacob wrestled all night with an angel, so what do I know?  :p

A big thanks to PT and Krillis for running us!  :D

So now that I'm all alone in Radix, how long do you see me spending there before my next universe, PT?  :)

Re: Radix Gather

I had a great time I also thought the demons where weak but I am glad for that or Oak and I would have been creamed alot earlier.
With me the aspect of humility was a great rollplaying challenge for me and I loved it. Spending time with Oak was awsome and he is a great writer and rollplayer. You both did a great job.

Re: Radix Gather

I think it was maybe a little planned for modern settings. They are in some ways easier to do for me.

However, the next gather I have in mind is a fantasy setting.

=========

As to Hadrian's point, yea for Krillis, and perhaps when Krillis ready to run again, he can find a player.

=========

In the stories (which are oral tradition) and in sacred texts, the powers of spirits vary. You have beings that are less than human, and some that are more, and some that are so much more that they shock the mind. Add in fiction, and they run the gamut from minor pixies to Cthulu. If I had C.S. Lewis' Archons from the Space Trilogy in physical combat...well he said that some of them were so powerful that they could destroy the Earth by a misstep.

And some of the Elder Versers command powers that would make the demigods of Greek tradition to be rather weak.

I can make spirit beings with near complete physical immunities, but for this gather I think it best not too.

Re: Radix Gather

Yep, Mac. BTW, your game thread is up. Oak gave me a friendly reminder that I'd forgotten you, and so I got that done after that.

It was intriguing and fun. I'm surprised I was able to last as long as I did. :)

Re: Radix Gather

And so the last of us finally verses out of Radix...

It was fun.  And while I may not have managed to get a shard, I was able to pick up a few interesting skills.  :)

And I managed to die in Yosemite.  That is a good way to say goodbye to a world.

I suppose getting versed out of a "training" scenario is one way to break out of posting in "list" mode... ;)
