Of course, it was based on Magic: The Gathering, or my really simplistic understanding of it (I have read one of their novels however).

And obviously Mentat understands the game a lot better than moi which is why I was confusing him.

When you do such a transition, I don't think you want to be too literal, but you should try to get the feel of it and the underlying logic of it as well as you can.
