I'm having a bit of a hard time keeping the crew in memory so I thought I'd write down some notes here.  No doubt it will be incomplete, and sometimes contradictory.  We can work on that.

Acting Captain Trevor Morgan: Rank 12; Able Bodied Spacer (a term for knowing the general basics of an all-around spacer, and being physically and mentally capable of using such); Tall,rangy, dark-haired, quietly perceptive, broad-minded and intuitive.  A kind person but able to be hard at a personal cost when circumstances demand it.  Has the loyalty of his crew.

Pilot Tonya Musashi: Rank 11; ABS almost; mostly spends her time in calculation and study. Has a tendency to slip up on people without them noticing.  Sometimes jabs unsuspecting folk in the ribs just to see them jump.  Her greatest desire is to master the math for refining interstellar jumpgates.  Dresses plainly, and keeps hair back in simple ponytail.  Mostly unconcerned with appearance.  Cerebral.

Navtech Janet Lithowitz: Rank 7; Dresses in bright pastels.  Intrigued by a wide array of topics.  Student of Zero-G Wrestling.  Talks with her hands when she gets excited.  Actually a lot smarter than she acts since she's so easily distracted.  This type of behaviour is well-accepted in Confederation Society.  It is generally understood that her personality type will wander all over the place for several decades, and then coalesce into a high-level expert on a number of topics.  But right now, she's still in Jack of All Trades beginning phase.

Engineer George Moraven: Rank 11; ABS; probably the most disciplined individual on the ship.  Very educated in his focused area, and logical elsewise.  He's not the quickest on board, partially because he makes sure to think things through first.  Almost deliberate.
He has a nasty temper, and a penchant for smashing things which he sublimates through martial arts and competive gaming.  Capable of holding a serious grudge.  He's self-aware enough to understand his temper, but not enough to move past it.  Not that he really wants to.
His primary interests other than engineering are martial arts and competivie games.  He is tall, big-boned, and solidly muscled with a definite belly and chest excess of fat--but he has considerably more muscle than fat.

Assistant Jake Stennis: Rank Six; Age 18; socially maladroit but good-hearted, does not handle surprise well, enthusiastic, energetic, and likes to play jokes which he is good at.  His job is to maintain systems, learn stuff, and help anyone who asks.  His greatest desire...a girlfriend of course.


This is the crew, along with Misty Reynolds, of the interstellar sublight ramship, the Conneticut Yankee, sent to Bethany System by the Confederacy of Worlds.  They are not meant to lead this mission.  Instead, they were the "mind the store" crew while the upper-levels slept through the trip in cryo (which indeed this crew had done some of it as well...If she had landed a year earlier she would have met a totally different set of people since this group would have still been in cryo.)
