Post Ludum: Jhiaxus Journeys

Well, thoughts on the world of Green Venusian Princess/Sensitives and Red Martians and Solar Pirates and Iron Fission Engines and so forth are welcomed.  Its inspired by 1930-ish SF with every planet being a habitable one.

Which means one of Jhiaxus's fears won't happen.  Yes, the atmosphere of Jupiter is breathable, and the 2T g's is rough, but doable.  So the crew may survive without Cap'n Gunn at the helm.

This of course, highlights that the science in this world is ...absurd.  A chief example is the Iron Fission Engine.  A nuclear reactor powered by chunks of iron....

Thoughts, comments...

I thought it was absurd but cool. Um well since it does fit the 1930's thoughts, I thought it was damn cool. I will post below what I think is mine that wasn't before I came :D

(Blue Ring from First Mate, Blue Ring from Silver Knight of Terra, The Orange Sensitive Ring (it was in the Captains safe, so I assume he assumed ownership of it, but I maybe wrong), Box full of weird light absorbing material, Duranium Axe, The 2 hooked sabres, the first mate officer sword (are all the weapons made from the stuff the axe is?), the various shield belts from dead pirates, that's it, all the items are from dead people so I don't see any ownership issues :))

Oh and I realized that it wouldn't have worked between the Green Venusian Princess and myself....cuz Men are from Mars, and Women are from Venus :D

Re: Post Ludum: Jhiaxus Journeys

I enjoyed the setting, and the job PT and Jhiaxus did with it.  J had some pretty nice moves in there, especially during the battle.  And PT's characterizations were good; I especially liked George.

I wouldn't mind a Space Opera setting like this, although Oak is such a different character, with such different strengths, so it would be hard to think how he would deal with such a situation...

It was a fun read.  :)

Battles get interesting, when you adopt, the "The ends justify the means" mentality, which is usually reserved for bad people, or people Jhiaxus thinks is bad. :)

Re: Post Ludum: Jhiaxus Journeys

I tend to adopt the Judge mentality.  Thoroughly review the case, and thoughtfully make a decision, and then if needed, bring the hammer down, and then sleep with a clean conscience.  Of course, this is rather slow, so a quick-moving situation might find me behind the information curve.

Tadeusz had that killer aura, but Shawn over on GO slaughtered way more people.  But then he was more of a Gunfighter/Sherriff, and I as I said was a Judge hearing a capital case.

So I sorta agree with J..

"You're a bad person, who chooses not to repent of your crimes, and surrender yourself to be rehabilitated. Very well.  May God have mercy on your soul.  Hang him."
