Post Ludum: Avahur's Honour

In the Ancient Dark Honour world, the peasents are ruled harshly by the leading samurai.  They are in turn ruled by others, but the liberators (the ninja) do not see this.  This is why the ninja are doomed to fail, and thusly bring the PC down with them unless the PC does something drastic (or is just really lucky).

In this world, Avahur sadly perished reasonably quickly.  Gave up, almost...

I kinda hinted in OoC about the cart.  I had planned on him being able to roll under it to survive the samurai... but I guess not.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur's Honour

any hints at what the next world is going to be like? will I keep the ninja-to, my laptop, and the remaining shurikens?

Your laptop?

Hmm...

It was a close personal belonging, so yes, even though you were away from it.

You will keep your ninja-to and shuriken (as well as that spiffy little outfit!) for the next world, as you were carrying them at the time.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur's Honour

I don't see it as gave up.

I will point out that this seems to be a fairly lethal world.  SQ went there, and it was not her first world, and she died in her first melee with a samurai (after shooting a couple guards with an arrow).  And Sean, who went through pirates like a scythe through wheat faced off against his first samurai and got sliced in half...it was a pretty quick game for him.

Yes, there's a good bit to the game that Avahur did not get too, but that happens in worlds.  Jhiaxus got the quest for the Princess started, and perhaps his crew will finish it, or someone else.

Worlds generally need to have some depth to them.  Although a few don't.

And perhaps Avahur can come back to this world later, more experienced, and give it another go.  It is certainly true that the skills and weapons Avahur picked up here will be useful elsewhere.

I really enjoyed both of your efforts.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur's Honour

Well, I guess not really give up... just admit total defeat at the hands of a superior opponent.

:P

Mal would've at least tried rolling away or something, but meh.  Different characters do different things (one character I've played would've bit the samurai in the kneecap...).

I enjoyed that.  A good world-character match.

I hope that Avahur returns to this world someday... :)
