Avahur at War

Your neck hurts slightly as you open your eyes and conciousness floods your brain.  As you sit up, the sounds of screams and guns fills your ears.

Opening your eyes, you see that you're behind a large row of sandbags.

As I look around I notice I still have my ninja gear and my ninja-to, shurikens, and laptop. I kneel down record the recent events in my laptop and think to myself.

I am dressed like a ninja in a place that looks like world war 2 !? WTF!?

I run through cautiosly trying to figure what is going on.

As you record the events in your laptop, the sound of a large vehicle coming towards you startles you.  The next thing you know, a large jeep with a gun on the back pulls up.  A black soldier dressed in combat armour (with metal plating) leans out of the driver's seat and looks at you.

"I don't know who you are, but if you want to survive this, marine, you'll want to hop into that gunner's seat!  Double-time, you pansy!"

OoC: Who knows!?

:D

I don't even know all that much about this world yet!  *cough*PT, hurry up!*cough*

The sargeant reaches into the side seat and tosses you a gun.  "Battle rifle, son," he says as he notices your questioning eye.  "Now hop in that turret!"

As you move to the turret, you notice that your shoes are clinking against the ground.  When you look down, you notice that the ground you're walking on is a pure metal.  To your surprise, the ground is the same metal as far as you can see.

OoC: Who said this was Halo?  :D

And you only got one 36 round clip, by the way.  3-shot bursts.

Re: Avahur at War

The jeep sets off, the tires spinning but then catching the metal and driving.  From your higher vantage point, you see skirmishes happening down below on lower areas of land.

As you drive, you soon see someone in an all-green metal suit of armor.  You begin firing the gun, and it obviously catches the person in surprise.  Yellow light flickers around the suit as you hit the man, and then the light dissapears and your bullets rip through the armour.  The person falls, and the next thing you know, the jeep stops and the sargeant is looking at you.

"What do you think you're doing!?"  He yells at you angrily.

OoC: You said anyone not wearing the same garb...

You hop in the side site and the sarge takes off again, eyeing you warily as he does so.

Pretty soon, you notice that you're coming upon a makeshift camp.  Sandbags litter the area, and a few people are gathered around the main area.  One of which is a person wearing the same green armour as the one you killed earlier.

As you look around at the people, you start to get an intense feeling of deja vu... almost as though you've seen everyone here somewhere else.

OoC: General effect.  It basically decided who you killed.  ;)

OoC: Well, let's give a quick overview of everyone else in the group...

IC: -There's Ryu and his garb
-The Sarge
-The guy in green armour
-The new guy
-Someone who you think is Spiderman
-Vars from your first world (he's way on the other side and hasn't noticed you, nor you him at this point)

Nah, you're not that odd.

As your group is standing around, and before the guy in green armour has a chance to respond, you here a few hushed whispers come from behind you.  As you turn around and look, you see a ball of what looks like pure lightning floating towards you.  It's roughly five feet off the ground and three feet wide at its widest point.

A voice comes out, reverberating strangely as though it's almost a chorus saying it.  "Do you know why you're here?"  He asks the group.  The new guy dressed in white (who looks like some strange old wizard) nods his head, but the rest remain silent.  "This is the Warplain, friends.  This is where the final battle between good and evil is taking place."

He pauses and then continues.  "Over on the other side of that hill, a battle is currently taking places between my forces and that of evil.  I need you to assist my forces, for if we lose that position, we lose a position that has taken years to take."

Re: Avahur at War

Yes, Vars is there (although neither you nor him have seen each other).  And there is a guy dressed as Spiderman.  And, yes, it is supposed to be quite a mucked-up group.  Also, I'm sick of calling the guy in greem armour... well, that.  Going with Chief from now on.

;)

Anyways...

The ball of lightning holds his position for a few moments, and no one speaks up during that time.  "Very well," he says to the group.  "Be on your way to the fight, and good luck to you all."  The being dissapears in a puff of smoke, and your group is left alone.

"All right, you maggots!  Saddle up!"  The Sarge yells as he hops into the warthog.  On the other side of a camp, you notice a large hummer which you instantly recognize as Vars' (who is hopping into the driver's seat).  The Chief hops into the gunner seat on the warthog, and everyone else is either heading out or boarding their own method of transportation.

"Hey, Avahaur!"  You hear a shout.  As you look, you see it's Vars.  "Want to take the gun?  I promise not to go over an incredible drop again," he says, smiling.

"No, I hopped back in."  He smiled.  "Normally I don't kill myself in a world, but I had been trekking around that place for a couple days and there was nothing there whatsoever."  He guns the engine and the hummer takes off.

The warthog-with Ryu now in the side seat-keeps pace beside Vars' hummer, and Gandalf is riding along on his horse.  You don't know where Spidey is, though.

As you crest the hill, Vars slows down slightly and you see the battle ahead.  Lightning, bullets, and arrows are all flying between what looks like a vicious melee.  You can't tell very much which side you're supposed to defend, but it's obvious that one side is losing.  On the side that's winning at the moment, a gigantic spider (think 3-4 times the size of Shelob) is walking slowly and appearing to order the men around.

Your group charges down the hill, obviously going straight for that spider.

Ooh, sorry about that, buddy.

When you hit the ground, you hear a sickening crunch and you fall down.  As you look at your leg, you see that one of the bones in your shin is protruding out.  You broke it... badly.

Everyone is rushing towards the spider, who has reared on its hind legs and uttered a high-pitch scream that makes your ears hurt.  You feel a small trickle of liquid and you realize one of your ears is bleeding.

However, where you land, you do find two clips for the battle rifle.

You find a basic medkit (gauze, disinfectant, needles, morphine, etc.) on the dead medic.  As well, you manage to find a frag grenade.

Crawling along the ground, you soon come across a strange pyramid-shaped black object (roughly 3" from base to point) with a button on the side.  As you push the button, the pyramid-shaped object begins to glow and energy courses through your body and you feel your leg twitching; when you look down, it's been healed.  The object stops glowing, but you feel a slight humming coming from it.

You enter the building carefully, battle rifle ahead of you.  As soon as you descend, you see a large green creature in bloody armour patrolling the hall.  You guess it's roughly seven feet tall.  As you look, you see it's carrying a large axe of which blood is still dripping off of from a recent kill.  There is a small black ponytail coming out of the back of its head, and his shoulder pads are adorned with spikes.

It has a strange look to its face, almost slightly pigish.  It doesn't see you, but you can see it sniffing at the air; it senses something's out of the ordinary.

Re: Avahur at War

I take aim at the pigish creature aiming at the vital areas and crouch down ready to fire if it notices me, but keeping still and ready looking for an opening to attack.

Re: Avahur at War

As it lumbers along, you see an opportunity to fire at the back of its neck.  You take it, and a three-round burst flies from your rifle.  Your first time firing a gun...

And you miss horribly.  The bullets whizz past its head, and the creature turns to you enraged.  It lets out a cry of bloodlust and begins charging at you.

Re: Avahur at War

Nice....I <3 teh true shurikens

I pull out my shurikens and throw them at him (like 3 of em) and then I fire directly at the center of the beast leaving a minimal amount of miss zone.

Re: Avahur at War

To throw shurikens... two-handed rifle...

You drop the rifle to throw the shurikens.  They all hit the creature in his chest, and he yells out in pain as he pauses for a second (which gives you time to grab the rifle).  You fire the rifle at his chest twice, and all six bullets go into it.

He's still running at you, however, more pissed than ever... (10 feet away)

Re: Avahur at War

I jump to the side firing another burst or two off then as I land I drop the rifle (military grade wont break if it gets dropped so i am not worried, especially since it came from sarge) then throw 3 more shurikens and then roll away and run...If this plan fails I just run away a bit to put distance between me n him.

Re: Avahur at War

You fire another burst as you jump, this one misses him cleanly.  As you roll, you feel a sharp pain go up your side and hear the creature roar in triumph; it seems as though he cut your side with his axe.  You throw the shurikens, which bounce harmlessly off his armour.

You then being running away, your side impeding your progress.

Re: Avahur at War

I run away as fast as I can and then duck, fire a burst or two upwards at him then as he gets close take a risky move and thrust forward and an opening in his armor aiming at his kneecap or foot or something in that area.

Re: Avahur at War

Burst what?  You dropped the gun.

The next thing you know, a searing pain fills your back as the axe comes down yet again.

Then... darkness.
