Post Ludum: Avahur at War

A simple world, Avahur was dropped in Warplain, a place of eternal conflict.  It's really just a temporary world.  And, like I guessed before, he didn't last 50 posts.

;)

He ended up being killed by an orc (a Warcraft one, not those piddly LOTR orcs), but not before he got a futuristic battle rifle (and then dropped it right before he died... smooth), but thanks to an extremely lucky GE roll, he found an ancient relic which basically totally heals whoever pushes the button.

But it only works once a day.

Eh, discuss!

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Well... I think he did decent.  He risked the battle rifle to secure another prize.  If he hadn't have screwed up and shot something he didn't have, he might have reached the goal too.  I like the idea of him sacking the battle rifle for a bigger picture though, nice thinking in my opinion.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Whoa... you did, didn't notice that, congrats.

:P

PT, we need a new world for Avahur.  If you don't have one, I got a world that I designed months ago for another game (that never took off).  Avahur did help develop that world, so it would be a secondary choice, but there would be some ways for me to work around his knowledge of it.

Well, now we need another dreadfully lethal world to drop Avahur into...I'll see what I can do.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

The world we developed a while ago is VERY deadly...

Try having a team of half a dozen black ops psi users and having them all royally screwed deadly.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Yeah, they would've been.

It would've taken triple the amount of allocated medics to keep everyone alive.

Heehee.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Yeah before I forgot that I didn't pick it up again after I dropped it...

especially if a younger you n me were in there....*refers to Battalion RPG days* we got knocked like 5 times in a mission...if you ran outa health you went unconscious...it was 4 hp then vets got 6 hp but that still didn't help us and when healed we came back with 2 hp...fun times but me n mal still got knocked out 5 times in a mission.  You would have to be either INCREDIBLY GODLY WITH SKILL or EXTREMELY lucky to survive that world..we allowed 2 medics you would need like 10 medics to keep other medics and the other players alive.  It was soo deadly..hell I could give you a link and take a look at it.its under the deleted list....but meh its deadly if you read what its about...well lets  put it this way PT if you were a god you would still probably die in that world..it tooks IMMENSE amounts of skill to survive...on a scale of 1-10 it would get a 50 on deadlyness.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Haha, he's right.

We were basically going to throw a group of lvl 1 characters against an army of enemies which just one would be hard to take down.

Heck, a lvl 6 character in a playtest had a bit of trouble with a group of lvl 0.5 soldiers... heheh.

If you have an interest in the world, well... I'll have to talk to PT about playing it with Avahur.  If you do, you can find out there, otherwise I can link you to the game's website.

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Avahur's choicees were interesting, and they bring up an interesting point:

Just who are the opposing forces here?  If it is "good" vs. "evil" (as opposed to "Good" vs. "Evil"), then according to who's standards?  Why should Avahur or anyone else fight just on someone else's say so?

Re: Post Ludum: Avahur at War

Its the Alliance headed by the Creator vs. the Anarch deities.  The Neutrals mostly stay out of the fight, except for a few oddballs.  This is basically the skirmishes leading up to a multiversal Armageddon.  Ultimate Good and Evil going mano a mano one last time.

But, there is a question, is someone "Good" because they say so?  And I don't think he really understood the stakes or the sides here.

Of course, Avahur has a strong tendency to change sides.  He just did so in Heartwar.  He needs to be dropped into "A Few Dollars More" setting.
