Post Ludum: Why Spy? and Alexis Agents

Well.

This is for talking about the Why Spy? world, and about the game Alexis Agents.

Re: Post Ludum: Why Spy? and Alexis Agents

Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed playing the Why Spy? world.  It gave Alexis a chance to learn a few new skills and pick up some cool toys.  Alexis would have liked to stay around and increase her spy skills a little more but since she had to go at least she went out with some style.

I look forward to my next world.

Eh..he was gonna die from the virus anyway.  This way Alexis got to get some payback for all the hell he put her through.  Besides she was an agent it was her duty to get rid of the threat of Roarke.

Oh lol. We won't dwell on what I thought you meant by code class.  Umm...That would have been the smart thing to do.  But Alexis isn't a umm..wasn't a hardcore killer.  Roarke kind of pushed her over the edge.  Also she wasn't all that good of an agent at that point.  Unfortunately she missed a lot early on but experience has changed her. Because of what she has learned and experienced here she will be a lot more wary in the future.

I thought the way Alexis got through Roarke's armorglass was inspired.  She usually has the coolest ways of getting out of situations.  At least she got Roarke before she left.

It was very good by Alexis to score the glass.

I'm also hoping for more in-depth comments on the game world so that I can take them to the game world designer over at GO, and give him some insight.  So if you 've been hankering to write a ten page theses, or have some weird ideas about this world bouncing about in your head...now's your chance.

Re: Post Ludum: Why Spy? and Alexis Agents

I really enjoyed that.  Awesome world, and awesome roleplaying, Alexis!  :)

PT, please put this one high up on my world wishlist... :D

In depth comments on the game world...  hmmm...

Certainly an interesting and attractive world, especially for british spy fans.  What are the real differences between that one and this one, other than versers and verser detection and different heads of state?

Given the tech level here (rather similar to ours overall?), is Sir John a bit of a stretch in terms of level of disbelief?  I enjoyed him, but making a robot that can pass for a human, not only to a casual observer but also to suspicious villains, is no small task.  Although with robotic alligators and sharks, I suppose that their robot tech may be a bit more advanced?

Suppose that Alexis had managed to stay alive, and the supervillain had been bumped off.  Are there other villains waiting in the wings?  Or is it expected that the verser won't be able to survive past this point?

Re: Post Ludum: Why Spy? and Alexis Agents

The tech is higher in this world, and no one reads or watches spy movies, but otherwise its similar.

After all, in James Bond, they are able to do things that are technolgically out there sometimes.

Lots of other villains.

Also, over at GO, Jhiaxus Version One is in a Why Spy? world as well.  He dealt with a nuclear terrorist (which is the official intro adventure for this setting), and now he's trying to deal with nerve gas.

Basically, you have a problem, solve it. Go back home for a random amount of time and practise, another adventure, and continue...Its very much inspired by the James Bond movies, and other thriller/spy movies.

And when you get really bad GE rolls, you go out a week after another mission getting no training time, which makes a verser cranky. I pretty much decided if I don't have a decent training time after this mission that I may go 006 and turn :)
