Post Ludum: Kate Comes Calling

Our longest running game, based on the world entitled "The Odd Case of Miss Charity Lanton." is ending.  Kate did a splendid job, and helped me as a writer.

Its based in a Lovecraftian world, and presents the protagonist with a truly grisly choice (or it tries too).  Save the Earth and let an Elder God go free to terrorize others, or blow the planet up....

So comments, suggestions, analysis, puzzled looks, cash, or adulation....

Re: Post Ludum: Kate Comes Calling

I have to say... I loved it, except for that whole having to decide which way to deal with this and that whole Snacky Cake issue.  I loved the depths and the differences from the world I know and the world I was living.  I was especially ammused by the Aces and Eights issue.

And I finally got used to posting in first person. (although when I started, I had a hard time not switching back to third person.)

I liked Hickok and saw him being played by Bob Hoskins...  Cecily was a trip and part of me was quite sad when the lady of fire... 'fixed' her.

So...does this mean that in saving Charlie... I actually failed? or did convincing the lady of fire and the elemtari... counter balance it?

Kate, I loved your thread.  You responses to the subtle yet growing evil around you were incredible.  I could never have played that as well.

Think we could get a trademark on "The Snacky Cake of Evil"?

It would sure make a great T-Shirt, with a picture of the evil one on the back, and the phrase "The Snacky Cake of Evil" on the front. We would make money on it :)

Personally I prefer "Snacky Cake of the Elder gods".

And I'm pretty sure that South Park owns 'snacky cake'

Re: Post Ludum: Kate Comes Calling

I think if anything "Snacky Cake" would be a copywright, but it's really really hard to copywright a phrase that is close to common usage. Snack cake is a phrase in common usage, I think to try and copywright "Snacky Cake" would be more trouble than it was worth. Just my 2 cents. I also prefer "Snacky Cake of the Elder gods".

Re: Post Ludum: Kate Comes Calling

What would have happened if Kate hadn't so obligingly chosen to stick around and get to know the six-legged rat?  :)

BTW, awesome roleplaying, Kate!  :D

Re: Post Ludum: Kate Comes Calling

I'm sure ol' 6 legs'd have found me somewhere...   But as I said... in "It came from the late, late, late show" you get points for that under "Acting apropriately stupid"

Thanks!  I had a lot of fun with this one!
