Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

I'm making a faction for a setting I'm working on that is all about replacing parts of their body with magic or psionic items that replicate or improve upon the function of the part that it replaces.

I'm looking for ideas for the prosthetics and how they work. I would prefer having the Bias for the effect but then again I can usually figure out he bias from the description of the effect.

For example:
Clairsentient Eye: replaces the function of the eye with a short range clairvoyance. Made with P9@3 Create Psionic Scrying Device. Used with P1@2 use Psionic Scrying Device.

Magic Prosthetic Arm: A arm shaped piece of material animated by magic and controlled mentally by the user. Made with M13@5 Dependent Permanent Animation with a M13@3 Add Special Abilities to Animations that allows it to be controled mentally. used as a M1@2 Operate Always Active Device.

Magic Voice Box: Replaces the vocal cords with an item that can make any sound the user wants.
M9@3 Create Sounds is used with... I would have to think about what kind of magic item this would be... I'm leaning towards always active...

(heh. most of these would be an incredibly bad idea for a verser. all sorts of botch potential there)

Another example would be a Magic Heart that works by magically inducing the blood to flow though out the body.

Honestly I'm looking to see how much of the human body can be replaced with these prosthetics.

My character Magehammer that I run as referee is the proud owner of a T-800 endoskeleton that he can consciously inhabit and control. He's replaced a lot of the original armor and whatnot with a magical metal called Black Iron. The magical metal enables certain people to manipulate the forces of Order and Chaos. Order, creating darkness, cold, healing, life. Chaos, creating fire, lightning, light, heat, etc. Eric Ashley could explain it a lot better I think.

Have you considered extra speedy, levitation, or flight capable legs?

Re: Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

I have considered prosthetic legs
Basic one would be made very similarly to prosthetic arms.
The speedy one would have a a M13@3 Add Special Abilities to Animations cast on them that increases their movement speed.(Possibly accomplished by painting them red. cus da red ones goes faster! er sorry was thinking a bit too orky)

The flight or levitation can be accomplished by making them into a psionic or magic item with hat function.

as for the Black Iron T-800 endokeleton...I'm not exactly sure how it relates. but Transmuting your bones into a tougher material seems like a valid upgrade. You just have to make sure that your muscles are strong enough to move you around afterwards.

Think of the T-800 as a full-body prosthetic with magical properties. I believe you asked how much of a body could be replaced. Answer, the whole thing.

Re: Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

True. There is nothing stopping them from building a super golem and them possessing it via M13@9 Reincarnate. Actually it's quite common in the upper rulers of the faction...comparatively speaking super golems are expensive.

It's not really what I'm looking for though. I'm look to see what human parts can be replaced while keeping the brain alive.
Near the end of process they are basically brains in a jar with various magic and psionic items that keep them alive. At that point they start making their super golem body and preparing to transfer their soul into it..

Re: Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

I think I get what you're going for here. The eye is a stroke of genius, and you could do the same for the ears.

There are several internal organs you could replace, one of which could have a passive skill to cure ailments. When I think of a psionic/magic exoskeleton, though, I think of something that has a lower density and instead uses magic or psionics to create a forcefield around the individual-or perhaps that could be a new skin device around the individual?

Additionally, you could create a psionic thinking device as well imbedded in the brain that the individual could talk to telepathically that would give him insight into the body's different functions and take the toll off of a normal brain which might not function well trying to control so many psionic/magic devices at once in the body.

So, in summary:
Ears-clairaudience
Pancreas/other internal organs-low level cure devices
Skeleton/Skin-force field (possibly some immunities as well from elements/other types of external damage which aren't physical)

Sorry, I don't have my book on me at the moment, so I can't put the bias levels down that I have in mind for these.

Insane digestive system. I believe it was Marvel comics had a character called Matter Eater Lad. He could eat anything from toxic waste to the metal bars on your cell. Imagine what his leavings would look like when he went to the bathroom.

But anyway, the other thing is that there's a lot more you could do with that. Flaming urine streams anyone?

Re: Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

Very interesting ideas.
the Senses of Touch Taste and Smell could also be replaced similarly.

I would guess that most automatic systems in the body would be replaced with Active On Condition and Always Active magic devices because you wouldn't have to think to use them.

Most glands could be replaced with an Active On Condition device that transmutes or makes a hormone when the body needs it.

The immune system would be a device that casts M2@4 Cure Disease when the body is infected.

The psionic Sub-brain idea is very useful if you are trying to do this purely though psionics.
Theoretically it is possible to use a psionic device though a psionic device...
(Looks at the bias for this...Starts laughing like a Mad Man.)
(Too bad. I'm not allowed to build things to try out.)

Hmmm.... There isn't really a point for them to eat since they can also build a magic or psionic device that transmutes stuff into suger and vitamins and minerals that the flesh needs to live.

Re: Ideas for prosthetics in the Magic and Psionic biases

Ok with this I can replace practically all of the major and minor organs except the digestive system  and I can just make the directly make nutrients in the blood stream.

... now I have a urge to load him up with other magic items that have the activation words of
"GO GO Gadget X!"
