Mike in Megiddo: The World at it's Endgame

I am stunned by all that's happened, but can't help but smile when kissed by a beautiful woman.

"I don't see how I could forget either of you. Thank you for telling me all of this Leona, and my apologies for being dense when it comes to emotions."

I then close my eyes and relax in the pool, continuing to absorb water motes. As I fill up on them I'll start working on transmuting them into the other elements, so I have a more balanced elemental mote spread. I believe my cap is currently 304, and I have 8 tied up between the 5 water in the spear and 3 fire in the bracers and hat. So ideally I would like to get to:
4 Fire
4 Water
5 Air
5 Solar
4 Earth
in my pool.

If I don't have time for that before Leona wants to move on that's fine, but it's my hope.

Once we decide to move on I'm assuming Leona will turn the hot water jets higher again for added steam. I'll change at a moderate speed. She's made me blush enough already, I'm trying to reclaim a little dignity by being able to get dressed without rushing. I think of various people of my favorite books who manage to keep calm even with a woman's eyes on them and try and emulate that in my behavior.

Her smile is once again cat like.
"No problem. "

You relax in the pool. Gathering up motes. When something turns on within you. You note a faint blue aura around you as the pool empties at a noticeable speet. Your inner reserves are getting flooded. With a few motes comming in every few seconds. At the end you manage to gage the speed at two mote every five seconds. You fill up completely with your conversion. But the engine is still running pumping the excess motes that it products into your aura. You can already feel this is exhausting on a spiritual level. It's like you are running full out even when you are still.

Leona asks.
"What is going on? Did you learn something new?

"I... I'm not sure. I mean yes, it's something new. All of a sudden I started absorbing motes at a startling rate. I'd guess a mote every 2 or 3 seconds? The excess is pouring into my aura...  it's exhausting though. Let me see what Nix knows."

Nix, what just happened? I feel like my system just kicked into overdrive.

Nix replies
ah... opps. I felt that the gathering rate for the motes wasn't fast enough. So A worked with the others to make a ahhh... 'spiritual mote pump'. it gathers motes from around you. The exhaustion is an unavoidable side effect. You probably also want to be careful when you activate it. We don't have a filter on it yet. So if you activate it in a place full of darkness, You pump dark motes into your meridians.

Thank you all, this is fantastic. Noted to not turn it on when surrounded by darkness though, that sounds... unpleasant.

I smile broadly. "Simply put, my furies are amazing. They banded together and designed me a spiritual mote pump as Nix put it. It's tiring, but it sucks in motes from all around me at a rapid rate."

I concentrate then on shifting it off, since I'm topped off.

"We should see about pushing forward though."

The pump seems to resist being turned off. but you press on and manage to shut it down.

The water is rather low now. and you see all that implies. And conversely she sees you. You both dry off and then press on

You help each other climb and get to the other side up at the top. You walk down the Hallway and find yourself in a library. There are webs everywhere and you see the huge venomus spiders

I'll whisper when we get to the library, "this is where the first riddle must have been referencing. We need to take out these spiders first though. Let me do most of this one, I'm at full charge, better to reserve some of yours. Just watch my back."

I'm using a low burn of wind motes to augment my speed as I move into position on one spider at a time before launching into what is hopefully a quick and systematic dismantling. Once they are dispatched I'll look around to see what books are there.

You start a slow burn of your wind motes and absolutely wreck the spiders. You burn 3 wind motes and kill all of them. You look around and find books on all sorts of subjects. You note that a couple of books on each shelf are sticking out further than the rest of them.

The pair sticking out nearest to you reads
'Walking in the Wilderness' and 'Words of the Last Dragon'

You also note that there is a lowered portcullis down on the other side of the library.

I move forward and pull out words of the lost dragon and begin skimming it. Admittedly I'm as curious about the idea of dragons as the fact that the riddle referenced words specifically.

I'll also examine the portcullis. I'm assuming it's closed and locked?

There is a switch behind the book about dragons.

You read a few pages of the book. It is supernally written. You can feel the very pride of the dragon at it's existence. You feel it's sorrow at the approaching darkness that It can not fight it forever. That what you get from the few pages you read. (It's better than I can hope to write)

The portcullis is closed and locked.

I feel a sense of sympathy for the dragon. To be in an struggle against eternal forces, destined to fail to the  wearing effects of time yet unwilling to give up. Truly a noble being.

Does the switch automatically flip when I pull the book out? If not I'll try flipping it.

I'll check the other books that are propped out and see if they all have switches, as well as what those books are. From the riddle I suspect either the dragon book is the one, or there are 4 books that need switches flipped.

You flip the switch. But nothing immediately happens.
The books sticking out include
'Rules of a Gun Slinger'
'Spiral Folklore'
'Curses and Purification'
'Doomsday Reincarnation'
'Nightmare of the Abyss'
'Overheating: the Risk of too much Sun'

There are a few more.

I flip the switches behind the books beginning with overheating, rules, and doomsday. I also open doomsday reincarnation to skim it a little.

The portcullis opens when you hit all of those switches.

Skimming through Doomsday Reincarnation
It describes how the time-stream is split here with all of the End of the world things happening all at once. The Undead slip though time when defeated. They go to a timeline where they haven't been defeated.

Was there a hole and candle set like the others in this room? Or in the library? If not I'll begin searching room by room until I find it and then try using the green gem.

Leona says
"Remember the first riddle we found and couldn't make sense of? It's in the room on the other side of the main hall."

She leads you through the Library, across the top of the main hall and into the room on the other side. The stone slot and candleholder are in here. You put the bem into the slot and light the candles. You return to the main hall and see that the Mural has been restored to it former glory. The stairway down has opened up again.

You head down and find yourself in a small room. There is a tall door heading north and a strange machine in the northwest corner. It looks like this.

You feel a strong dark presence to the north.

Leona comments
"Do you feel the Immortal to the north? We better go in ready. That machine there is called a solar station. It was used to store solar essence in the Solar Empire. I wonder if it has any left after all this time..."

She walks up to it and sicks her hand out to it. Sunlight essence flows from the machine into her hand. After a minute she stops.

"I'm full now. There is a little left if you want to fill up."

I should only be down 3 motes, but I don't pass up opportunities to recharge.
"I do, it feels strong. Recharging seems prudent."

I'll follow Leonas example and then mentally prepare myself for a fight. The tactics will have to shift based on the landscape but I mentally let my furies know to be ready. Then I'll check if Leona is ready and move to the door and open it, proceeding in with caution.

You fill up with solar motes. Leona indicates that she is ready.

You enter a large room with a high ceiling. There is a candle holder in the middle of the room. There is a door on the other side of the room with that black cat in front of it. It meows at you the goes in.

When you move forward you hear a feminine voice say "Wait..."

Then out of thin air, floating above the candle holder. A women appears with blond hair and too pale skin. She is wearing strange sunglasses and a fluffy furry coat.
She looks like this.

"You are the Solar Magician and the new Spear wielder. Correct? "

Edit: why do I always forget something?
You sense this womans Soul Force. It is like a bonfire of Darkness, Water and Wind that have combined together into Ice.

"I am the White Duneyrr, the Sky-ruling Immortal... Please don't let this shock you, but... I'm afraid you must die now. My brother told me not to fight you. But I'm so hungry. I've been asleep for such a long time. Waking up and having a Solar Child  and a Fool for breakfast is just what I need... So you see, I've really got no choice. So sorry."

The is a snow white flash and then she transforms into a Huge White Moth. She easily has a wing span of ten feet.
She looks like this

She breaths a blue white cloud at you but You and Leona dodge out the way. Where she hits is now covered in ice.

I sigh, "they always want to underestimate me. Let's go!"

I launch myself upwards, using wind motes to augment a jump to great speeds, catapulting me into flight. I'm charging directly towards this moth immortal and slashing at her wings with my spear. I'm spinning as I get near, making a deadly cyclone of the spear blade and tearing at her wings and body before creating a wall of solid air to pivot off of, turning a hard 90 and throwing a fireball to scorch this ice queen. I'm putting all 4 fire motes I have into the fire ball.

Hermes, we have a nice open room here. If this fight goes on long enough, I'll be needing to do a fusion with you.

You charge in and via a jump. She manages to dodge out of your first strike. You continue to spin and clip her legs as you pass. She start going up. You make your solid wall of air and hit her directly with your fireball, scorching her back and producing black smoke. and she is out of range now. She launches snow white balls of energy and they rain down on you.

Leona is looking around at the four switches in the corners.
