Re: Hello.

I just noticed that this game is starting to slowly dwindle down...

Have you been updating the ad?  If you are, you should make a note for people not to be scared of the post count, since they're solo adventures...

More than once I haven't joined a game because it's already a thousand posts in.

Re: Hello.

No, I haven't been updating it.  Thats a good idea.

However, I have to say, I'm fairly happy with what I have right here and now.  Earlier, I would have liked more players than Misty and you, Malachai, and occasionally Doulos, but I've gotten busier, and so it works well for me.

RobMacD, one of my really dedicated players, has dropped.  I was having a hard time with the game because I wasn't sure where to take it.  Partially because it is supposed to be an anime type world, and I'd never done any anime before that.  So, I can understand him stopping.

I thought about asking him if he wanted to get versed out with Naomi in tow, of course.

I've had some people stop because I think I was trying something too ambitious for my skills, or too large for them to grapple with right off the bat.  I think its best to start with small things and build up.  Of course, I've violated that rule, maybe with Malachai, as I've laid the survival of the human race on his shoulders.

And of course, other people have a real life, and naturally that comes first.  And the Net is easy come easy go.  And truthfully, all three of my current players are very good, so thats nice.  I'm happy with it as it is, for now.

However, Malachai, if you wanted to run something, I could talk that over with you,and we could get you a couple Multiverser players?

Re: Hello.

(waves arm frantically)   I've never played Multiverser before, but if you guys are the example of the caliber of players involved, I would love to give it a try.

Re: Hello.

<Chuckles> Maybe I don't understand...but you are playing Multiverser now.  Ah, I see, perhaps I never mentioned the general background and system that is sorta guiding me?  Oops.

http://members.dandy.net/~mjyoung/wri010.htm is a very large index of sites related to Multiverse.  They still are struggling with web problems changing over to another site, so their current setup is not as pretty or as complete as it used to be.

You can also go by Gaming Outpost at gamingoutpost.com and meet the author, and even occasionally your esteemed GM will poke up a head under another name.  they run several Multiverser games over there.

Blue Canary is running Kelly Tessena through Jasper Fforde's Jurisfiction Universe where secret agents can jump into and out of works of fiction.

BC is also running MJ YOung, the game designer, through a weird cyberpunk setting where he is working at a lab in Japanese controlled Ontario, Canada.

MJ is running the lady Gabby through a time loop game; two others in a world where there is a Teen Screamfest Summer Camp; another guy is trying to get the orcs in a world, where orcs are enslaved by elvesd, to unite; and there's some more.

This is partially to give you a flavor of a main concept of Multiverser...every story is true somewhere in the Multiverse.

And lastly, I call myself Playtester because I'm trying to playtest worlds for eventual publication.  Conneticut Yankee (yours), Islands of Lakraine (Malachai), and Fimbulwinter (Doulos) are all worlds I want to publish.  Lakraine goes into a Realms of Magic set.  Fimbulwinter as well as Doulos's previous game goes into a Grim Futures set, and CY goes into a Worlds of Space and Time along with Malachai's prevous, Rocky Mountain DMZ.

And yes, if you want, I intend to put your names down in the book as playtesters.

Anyhoo thats a little more detail on what's going on.  I sometimes assume everyone knows what I'm thinking.

Anymore questions?

Re: Hello.

Name in book as playtester?

swwwwwweeeeeeeeeetttt.... like... real name...

<_<

>_>

heh

And this is my 5th world or something, so it's not like this was dropped on my shoulders immediately.  As for running my own game... hmm... that might be interesting.  I'm actually running another freeform game right now, so I'm not sure how much I wanna take on.  But having maybe one player would be cool... why don't you PM me about that?

As long as your real name isn't "Doom Dragoncrusher"...  :)
Seriously, I'll put whatever you want as long as 1)Its not too long 2)Its not profane or vulgar.  But you knew that already.

Yah, I'll PM you later.

Misty, I'm blonde too, and we in the Blonde Power Movement shall rule the world as long as...now where did I put that World Domination Plan?!?

Re: Hello.

WHO ARE YOU AND HOW DO YOU KNOW MY REAL NAME!?!?

<_<

>_>

*cough*

I'd probably just want my first name and last initial in there... eeyeah...

^_^

I'm blonde too, well... sorta... during the summer my hair's pretty blonde if I'm outside enough.  If I stay inside too many days, or winter and school rolls around... back to light brown.

V_V

You should see my pictures from kindergarten, though... BRIGHT blonde.

Re: Hello.

Since I'm kind of bored....

What type of music does everyone like?

I'm a metalhead myself, death metal specifically, but I like a lot of stuff along the lines of Rammstein, Pantera, Kittie, Ill Nino, and even a fair bit of Rob Zombie.

Re: Hello.

I listen to a bit of everything depending on the mood/activity.  If I'm in a mellow mood then it's James Taylor or Norah Jones.  If I'm doing housecleaning then I usually like to put on a good mix cd with some Punk or Harder Rock, and if I'm feeling cheesy then it's country music.  :)

Re: Hello.

I'm pretty ecletic, and at the same time, not very musical.

I like Manowar, and Mannheim Steamroller, and A Cappella, and Jars of Clay, and Bach and Tchaikowsky's 1812 Overture, and Queen, and Enya, and Charlotte Church, and Gospel hymns,Christmas carols, and Alan Jackson, and lots of Pop, and about the only thing I don't like is pure nihilists so Soundgarden and Kurt Cobain is out, and so is depressing crud like Hotel California and American Pie.  I even like an occasional bit of Jazz provided its not too weird.  But I can go a long time without listening to anything.

I think this reflects in my gamemastering and in my story writing. I can do a great variety more than most people, although sometimes the details are lacking.

Now, MJ Young, the game designer, is a musician who has written songs.  And indeed his Multiverser character uses a guitar for as a focus for making magic.

Malachai and Doulos, I'm enjoying your storylines.

Malachai, it gets even better.  When Country was very popular, I was a line dance instructor and half of a country dance partner teaching duo.

Re: Hello.

Hey we did square dancing at camp this summer with kids, and although they all thought it was going to be really lame (me included) it actually turned out to be really fun.  I think it was just because of the high school hormones though.

Re: Hello.

Not square dancing, but partner 2-step, double two, waltz, cha-cha, swing (East and West Coast versions), and other stuff to keep it interesting.  We even choreographed our own wedding waltz.

Re: Hello.

MJ Young, the game designer, wanted to come up with a Multiverser world based on the old musicals where the only way you can move from one location to another is to sing and dance...

That might be a good location to drop Misty next.

Me, I love to dance with the Ladyfaire, but I can't even do a one-two step properly.

Re: Hello.

That is really impressive Misty, choreographing any dance has got to take some skill and finesse! WOW, that is all I can say about that.

I find it difficult to choreograph my way around my town....let alone any kind of dancing! lol

Oh yeah, hey everybody, new guy here!

Re: Hello.

Don't think so.  Although I've only read one of those.

Think a world where My Fair Lady described Reality.  You could not walk down the street to the grocery, but had to sing and dance down the street.
This is an application of a Multiverser motto: Every story is true somewhere.

And welcome to our new vict...err, player.  Hopefully, Malachai will be back from his crisis soon, but I'll pinch-hit till then.

Re: Hello.

Don't worry.  I finished writing my autobiography for school last night, so crisis over... just until the next assignment.  >_<

I'm not going to be able to post all weekend, as I'm going on a youth retreat, but that's no big deal as PT never posts on the weekend, anyways.  So, meh, whatever.

So... right now I'm just waiting for good ol' McCallister to post something... and I'd post in my thread, but I woke up 5 minutes ago, so I don't know how coherent I would be...

EDIT: Nintendo Revolution controller released:

Controller = t3h wtf? o_O
