His attention equally divided between his ears and his nose, Erdthar stood ready for attack through the wall or from their invisible trading-partner.

Into the fire (Surprise round)

Initiative:
Quindil: 20
Argost: 18
Vespian: 13
Falk: 13 Shield of Faith grants +2 Deflection Bonus. Current AC = 26. Divine favor: +1 atk/dmg
Nolo: 12
Buyer: 9
Erdthar: 5
Pello:
Enemy: 4

Quindil throws out a coin to alert his comrades that he is ready for action.

Argost remains on the roof of the goat ready for action.

Vespian converses with the invisible woman for a moment and then alerts her comrades through telepathy that something is approaching.

Falk cast another useful spell on himself.

Nolo is also staying in his position.

The invisible woman seems to stand in place, it sounds like she smirks at Vespian’s last comment.

Erdthar backs up against the back door of the goat, keeping himself close to where the invisible woman should be, but away from the far wall of the alley.

Pello taunts the invisible woman as he stays on top of the roof.

It’s a good thing that Erdthar stood back. Before Pello can even finish his taunting the wall across from Goat’s explodes into tiny little fragments as a huge troll like beast steps out into the alley. The troll stares across to Erdthar with beady red eyes, its red skin pulses as it tightens its muscles. The beast looks to have a helm atop its head but closer looks shows that it is a metal plate grafted into his head. The beast looks as if he is about to strike out at Erdthar.

With a swift thrusting motion, Argost points the wand in his hand at the massive creature that had just burst into the alley and uttered a single syllable. Three short silver lances laced with purple energy launched into the air, flying at the creature's exposed chest.

The sudden arrival momentarily stuns Quindil.  He recovers but does not move...charging into battle it probably just what the enemy wants and he'll not fall for that old trick!

Holding firm.  Quindil is hunting magi, not cybernetic trolls.

Reacting almost at the same time as Argost, Pello weaves a spell that sends a roaring pillar of flame from his hands. The flames impact the troll's head at roughly the same time as Argost's purple lances strikes the creature's chest.

Falk: 13 Shield of Faith grants +2 Deflection Bonus. Current AC = 26. Divine favor: +1 atk/dmg
Nolo: 12
Buyer: 9
Erdthar: 5 HP: -27
Pello:
Enemy: 4  AC:25 T:12 FF: 22,  HP: -34

Quindill holds his ground as the beast bust out of the warehouse wall.

Argost blast a few more lances out of his wand that strike the creature. When they hit they did damage the nasty beast, but didn’t seem to draw his attention any, he seems fairly focused on Erdthar.

Vespian uses one of her handy spells and attempts to doom the creature. She completes the spell yet the creature does not seem to be effected. Although, his hide is already pretty nasty (Will: 21)

Falk tries a similar approach. Oddly enough, two of the stronger fighters in the group resort to child’s games, but none the less he steps forward and attempts to curse the beast. It doesn’t seem to have any more effect than Vespians spell did. (will: 20)

Nolo draws a weapon and noks and arrow.

The invisible woman seems to stand in place. As she can not be heard walking, but the alley did just get aloud and a bit busy for one to pay too much attention to her.

Erdthar makes a quick charge and swings a mean blow toward the beast. One of the large plates of metal deflects Erdthar’s blow. The troll seems to smile for a brief second there after.

Pello launches a bolt of fire that nearly takes Falk’s head clean off, lucky for the two of them the troll is some 10’ tall so Pello aimed a bit high to miss the Human.

After being struck with the flaming bolt the creature tears into Edrthar. He swings in with his two claws at almost the exact same time and then reaches down to snap at Erdthars head with its teath. (Claw1: 24, claw2: 14, Bite:25) The first claws slashes across erdthar’s chest but the second claw swings wide. Erdthar thinking that he held off most of the attack was surprised when he looked up to see a gaping maw come down on his face. (Damage: -27hp)

Under his breath he mutters something loud enough for Pello to hear but not any of those gathered in the alley.

"Bladerager... Typical."

Rather then focusing on the beast in the alley bellow, Argost looks around for signs of the beast's masters/summoners. The true threat here was hardly the giant monster.
As he does so, he nonchalantly points the wand in his hand in the creature's direction and once again utters the single syllable that unleashes a volley of arcane lances in the creature's direction.

Erdthar: 5 HP: -68
Pello:
Enemy: 4  AC:25 T:12 FF: 22,  HP: -81

Quindil holds his position, waiting for the time to strike.

Argost launches another volley of lances toward the beast, all three strike the target.

Vespian swings at the beast and takes a small chunk out of it’s flesh.

Falk also swings and strikes the troll.

Nolo remains patient, hoping that the Haluraans will show themselves soon.

The invisible woman remains invisible

Erdthar tries to take some vengeance with his axe. He strikes hard with one of the blades causing a large gash to form under one of the trolls protective plates.

Pello sets a ball of fire a flame underneath the enemy. The troll seems to take some damage from this strike.

With flames burning underneath and 3 people swinging blades at him the troll begins to become more agitated. It roars loudly as it swings wildly toward Erdthar as it takes a step toward the north west, near the invisible woman. The beast shreds into Erdthar with both of its claws. The troll is literally tearing Erdthar apart with its metal tipped claws. (19, 28 hit. -41hp)

OoC: no map update, but the troll moved diagonally north west 1 square, right next to teh inivisible woman

Unfortunately, it was a very sloppy swing. The golden hue dissipates rapidly.

Re: Into the fire (Round 1)

Argost frowns slightly as the troll manages to survive the multiple strikes by the warriors in the alley and his frown only grows with the second sphere of flame conjured at the creature's feet by the gnome several steps away from him.
Bladerager's were known to be tough this single creature was unlikely to be the only "trick up the Halruaan's sleeves". Though they were intelligent enough not to show themselves, they were also arrogant enough to do just that if they thought the party weak enough. The question was, which of the two would win over their minds this time around...

Against his better judgment, Argost says nothing of preserving spells for the real threat to the gnome and instead unleashes another volley of purple energy laced lances from the tapered duskwood stick in his hand directed at the creature's chest.
