Re: Meeting with Molly

The woman replies to Falk as she takes a step closer and reveals her head. She looks to be a stunning human woman with long flowing blonde hair. the stunning part could be due to the darkness, but she does have some sweet long hair. "So the terms have changed?" She looks around to Erdthar and Vespian.

"Is that why you brought all this muscle, or are you trying to rob me?" She hesitates for a second.

"I am close enough, we can discus your new terms from here." She seems a bit disturbed about the change of plans. She was simply coming to purchase a rather large gem to add to her colection, but it seems you all have other ideas.

Re: Meeting with Molly

Argost stands of over the proceedings in silence. Perhaps she was the original buyer, perhaps not. He can not get a good view of her features in the ambient lighting conditions and his angle relative to the alley so he could not tell anything from her looks. That would be left up to those in the alley.
He could only wait to see how the adventurers would deal with this situation.

Re: Meeting with Molly

The woman remains where she is in the alley way as she looks toward Falk, Erdthar and Vespian. "Ah, how sweet of you! You’re worried about my safety?" She pauses for a second as she reaches behind her and under her cloak slowly..... The group seems to get a bit anxious when she reaches behind her... but she produces a rather large satchel which appears to be full of coins. She throws the satchel toward Falk, it lands about 15’ in front of him, a few golden coins fall out the top, as the satchel seems to be stuffed to the gills with coin.

”I will worry about my safety on my own. Let us be done with this bargain so that I may get back to my warm hearth.” She seems very business like at this point and also seems to be in some what of a hurry.

Re: Meeting with Molly

Frowning at the woman's patronizing remark, Argost focuses on her with a greater single mindedness, trying to determine what the wards she might have. "My Lady of Spells, I pray  they do not include a spell reversal or redirection ward..."

Just as he is about to turn to the gnome and mouth something to him in silence, the diminutive one leans over the edge of the roof and shouts out his question.
Taking a quick step back into the shadows of the roof, in hopes the woman doesn't see him, he shakes his head. "Damn Greed! I hope they are not foolish enough to part with this particular rock for a mere sum of gold coin..."
What paltry sum of coin could be worth the item they now hold...? For this he gives up his advantageous position?

Silently, he awaits the outcome of the offer.

Re: Meeting with Molly

Nolo kept silent and maintained his concentration, Blessed Lady of Dreams, where are these Halruans?  They are certainly taking their time.  Then he hears Pello shout from the rooftop.  He did not just do that did he?  Has he lost his mind?  It took every ounce of will to maintain his position, all was not lost but surely if the Halruans were monitoring the situation this could not escape them.  Perhaps they would betray the presence of their thoughts...maybe it could work to their advantage.  Maybe?  Doubtful!

Falk's eyes gaze at the bag of coins. He's clearly likes the look of them, but then gives his head a small shake.

It visibly pains falk to turn the offer down, but he's resolute

"I'm sorry, we just can't sell this to you until we can figure out why the gem has such special meaning to these people. You must understand that this is for both of our sakes."

Re: Meeting with Molly

When Pello calls out to the woman, she looks up quickly, seemingly startled. She then immediately starts to make some odd movements with her hands as she mutters something under her breath.

Argost sees that she is performing the beginnings of a spell and let’s loose his readied action. Three small silver lances fly from the end of his wand and blast into the woman. As the lances hit a force shield comes into vision that surrounds her. The shield sparks for a moment as the lance pound into it, but they do not make their way through her shield.

The woman snarls and then finishes her incantation; she then vanishes before your eyes. She calls out, but her voice is now hard to pin point with her being invisible. ”So, you have come to rob me? You will all pay!”  You here footsteps that seem to be moving north in the alley.

"Dammit!"  Erdthar snaps in Orcish, stepping forward several paces to stand over the money.  "No one is robbing anyone!"  He snarls loudly.  "Take your money and go."  He turns to his fellows.  "No one touches her gold!"

He glares up and down the alley, red eyes glowing.  "No one here want's a fight."  He is telling his companions more than anyone else.

Re: Meeting with Molly

Nolo remains in position, although his instinct to reach out and choke the life out of Pello and Argost...who he thought would have more sense.  As their contact has now disappeared, Nolo maintains his focus hoping to determine whether she is actually still present.  Her threat confirms that shortly thereafter.  So many battles fought over misunderstandings, and here we have the potential for another.  He wanted to say something but Vespian at least was a reasonable person, perhaps she could smooth over the ruffles.  Assuming Argost and Pello do not start launching further magical attacks.  The Halruans must be laughing their asses off.  They won't need to do anything just pick the gem off the dead body in the alley.

Re: Meeting with Molly

Argost curses under his breath.

"Beshaba's best laid plans!"

Shaking his head, he went through the options in his mind. "Were they really foolish enough to not alert the true contact? Of course, she could still be playing a double game but I cannot take the risk. They don't need more foes..."

Quickly and as subtly as he can, Argost goes through the motions of an incantation, the fingers of his free hand weaving a quick gesture while his wand wielding hand draws a small item and makes a quick movement with it. He utters a couple of arcane syllables as his eyes follow the retreating woman's steps. He makes to move but hesitates for a couple of breaths as he hears the yelling from bellow.
"Let them try and sooth her first, if all else fails..."

Falk sighs. "Had to bring along the jumpy new guy."

Not wanting to show any signs of aggresion, but also not wanting to take any attacks to the face, Falk casts shield of faith, and keeps his physical shield up and ready.

Falk Zumbe rolled 13 using 1d20+1. Initiative.
Shield of Faith grants +2 Deflection Bonus. Current AC = 26.

For quick and easy reference in case its necessary due to her invisibility and spell casting nature, Flat footed AC is 24 and touch AC is 14

"Yeah," Vespian calls after the apparently retreating lady. "We don't mean you any harm and we don't want your gold, we just wanted to know who tried to rob us earlier." She now pleads a little. "Please let us back away so you can take your money back, you can even have mine for your troubles," She throws some coins towards the area of the bag. "Lets just be friendly and share information about who could possibly be behind the robbery attempt on us earlier."

Suggestion (Will Save DC 17 Negates) (1d20+4 For Resist DC)
Hoping for a bonus to raise the Will Save DC based on the reasonableness of the suggestion and added attempt to reinforce the truth that we don't want to rob her buy sacrificing some of my own coin,, well the coppers anyways..

"What the hells!?" Pello gasps, when the stranger starts assaulting their contact. However, is keen little brain quickly pieces together the information, and finally everything makes sense.

"You hold it right there!" he shouts, pointing at Argost "One more move, and I'll feed you so much fire that there won't even be ashes left."

He allows a second for the threat to sink in, the continues "Your greed betrays you. You think there's more money in that bag, than in the gem? Or did you seriously think you'd be able to steal the gem from us, after showing your colors so blatantly?"
