Re: Meeting with Molly

Not wanting to lose sight of the woman, Argost snaps his head over to regard the gnome with a raised eyebrow and a look of disdain. He then returns his attention to the alley, waiting for the woman's reply to the half-elf's words.
"This one accuses me of greed? By the touch of the Lady, the absurdity! Mother Mystra its true, these northern hedge wizards need no wits at all to wield your gifts..."
Without another movement, his gaze still on the alley, he speaks loud enough for the gnome to hear, though his words suggest he does not think Pello's questions deserve an answer for one reason or another.

"You've skill enough to have seen her casting. Had it been a sphere of flames, you would not have been so quick to throw around accusations. If you'd have bothered to check you would have detected her wards, I knew the spell would glance off her, it was but a warning. For her own good as well as ours."

As he speaks he taps his wand aimlessly against his leg.

Re: Meeting with Molly

"Of course, she was casting a spell." Pello replies, voice wavering between condescending or sarcastic.

"Invisibility. The wise man's, or woman's, first defense against an ambush. Surely you've heard of it, oh wise master of infinite knowledge concerning the arcane."

That last bit, though, was definitely sarcastic.

Re: Meeting with Molly

A grin formed on Argost's lips as a saying from his youth came to mind with the gnome's words.

"If you've got nothing intelligent to say, say something sarcastic."

But he subscribed to the older version of the saying and so remained silent and kept his gaze on the woman. Enough damage had been done already, he did not intend to get into arguments over actions that could not be reversed.

"Actually, wise one, it was a more powerful form of invisibility. One with a much shorter duration and, as such, usually used by those who intend to do more then just vanish..."

Argost: 18
Vespian: 13
Falk: 13 Shield of Faith grants +2 Deflection Bonus. Current AC = 26.
Nolo: 12
Buyer: 9
Erdthar: 5
Pello:

Quindil remains where he is at he stays silent as his eyes and ears keep watch.

Argost remians with Pello as they both razz each other

Vespian calls out and attempts to use a suggestion against the buyer, pleeing with her to be friends. When she does so a voice comes out of thin air, closer to the bag of gold than the woman was standing before.
”Perhaps its those nosy southerners that have been hanging around town, asking all those blasted questions.”

Falk cast a spell upon himself, he is nearly startled when the voice speaks up from so close, but he manages to finish his spell.

Nolo contemplates his actions but decides to stay still

Erdthar sniffs at the air and takes a couple steps to the north-west to step over the gold bag.

Pello remains calm and goes about harassing Argost, all while contemplating the perfect plan of firey death for any who may appose.

OoC: I need some coordinates on the map, I will get to that at some point :-{
The red cross is now invisible and the location of her is currently unknown, for the most part.

Quindil gestures to Nolo, attempting to communicate with hand signals.

He holds a finger up to his mouth, emphasizing the need to for silence.  He then cups his hand around his ear for a second, before gesturing to the wall behind him.

Quindil's body tenses, and he keeps his hand on the grip of his sword.  He keeps it sheathed for now, however, as the noise and glint of metal could give away his position.

Nolo acknowledges Quindil's hand gestures with a slight nod.  He assumed that Quindil was listening at the wall to see if he could hear the Halruans on the other side.  Nolo kept his focus on trying to determine if any other minds were in the area, but was mindful in case Quindil reacted in some way.  So far aside from his companions, he could detect none.  That did not mean that they were not around, there were ways to prevent detection, but he would not give up until either the Halruans attacked, he sensed something or the spell ran out.

Re: Goat's lane

Argost remains still and alert. As long as the buyer, and hence the possibility of the gem's presence, remained in the alley, he knew there was the possibility of the Halruaan's "forceful" arrival.
"If only they had warned this woman and we had just stormed the warehouse..."

At the woman's revelation of the strange southerner's nosiness and Vespian's most recent question, Argost's attention subconsciously turns to the conversation in the alley.

Argost and Pello listen to the invisible woman and Vespian's conversation.

Falk take a step back from his location.

The woman responds to Vespian from what seems like the same location. Her voice seems to have a little chuckle in it. ”Threaten me? Huh? No, no. who would do such a thing? Even a haluran mage is no match for the strength that I posses.” You hear her take a couple of steps.

Re: Goat's lane

At the woman's last words, Argost frowns. It was not unusual for the northerners to be over confident or foolish but of what little rumors most of them had heard of Halruaa, the might of its wizards in Art was unquestionable. Though he may have known better, Argost was not used to hearing a northerner speak such of their might, let alone one who wielded Art herself. Though she might be more likely to know the truth behind the rumors, it was her cockiness and self assurance that concerned Argost. Who was this woman who sought the gem...? Might she wait till the Halruaan's were done and then strike at them when they were weak. If what she said was true, she must have an inkling of an idea what the gem might be. But then, her worries for a simple bag of coin suggested she was more full of words, then the skill to back them up...

As the torrent of thoughts crossed through his mind, Argost shifted uneasily in the evening breeze. The Halruaan's had not seen fit to show and he did not want to have to deal with them later, when he might be alone...

Nolo continues to do what he has been doing the whole time, but is mindful fo Quindil.  He was not sure what Quindil was up to, but perhaps he heard or sensed something.  In either case Nolo was alert, in case Quindil needed aid, and maintained his foucs on detecting thoughts or minds of anything other than those he was aware of.

Quindil slowly and quietly moves forward near Vespian. He slows down for a second when he starts to pass the warehouse door.

Argost pays attention to teh invisible woman.

Vespian keeps her gaurd up.

Falk remains in place with his gaurd up.

Nolo does not move, but keeps a close eye on quindil.

The sound of footsteps get closer to Erdthar and Falk.  The footsteps stop after a couple of steps. The invisible woman starts to speak, to what sounds liek Vespian. "So what do you know of these people you speak of? have you seen them in town before. I would like to know who may be trying to rob me. Although, it doesnt much matter"

Erdthar holds his ground and explains that no one needs to get hurt, not the most convincing words, considering it came from an orc.

Pello keeps an eye on the situation

"My dear lady, Please take you money and go to safety!" She looks up and down the alley way. "We think the attackers were Haluranans,, they feel like something important was taken from them and this stone, along with our deaths will give them power back. They may have the backing of their entire contries government, are dastardly sneaky,, and,, and something incredibly huge, beasty, nasty and probally wanting to eat us is going to be here any second so please, please flee to safety. She gives a little snif. "I just couldn't live with myself if something happened to you, an innocent in this mess."

Falk's tone is one of surprise " Something huge, beasty, nasty and hungry? I was expecting something more boring!"

Falk begins the casting of a spell...

Preparing Divine Favor, to be used as soon as the "huge, beastly, nasty" creature, or something that resembles it, comes near. (+1 attack/damage rolls, lasts 1 minute.)

Re: Goat's lane

Argost frowned as the familiar voice of the veluptious half breed cut through his thoughts to sound loud and clear through the maze of his thoughts. "Odd, I didn't open my mind to communication..." He knew of several incantations that could force such communication but thought them all beyond her skill from what he had head of her. Then the thought occured to him that he also knew of several creatures that could communicate in such a manner, most of them not of this plane. Was there more to this female then met the eye...? "I'll have to look into it later, if we survive..."

The content of her words mattered little to him. It was no surprise the Halruaan's had some terrible creature to help with the physical challenges they might encounter. As long as it could not fly, he was not overly concerned, being on the roof as he was. He was not so concerned for the invisibile lady's safty as the half elf was, it was her choice to still be here after he had tried to scare her away. People, he sighed, rarely "got a clue" as it were.
It was the otherworldly beauty's words to their invisible "guest" that struck him the most howvever. He could not help but tap his wand to his hip nervously.

"How does she know all this...? Nevermind, if it is true, they are here for more then I thought. They know... Beshaba's tenfold curses! Mystra watch over me, for I shall need it...!"

Re: Goat's lane

Being open as he was to the thoughts in the area, the only thing that surprised Nolo was how clearly Vespian's thoughts came to him.  Normally only surface thoughts came through.  Interesting...let's try a little test.  "Vesp can you hear me?  I must say that it would have been nice to know you were a telepath before we moved into the alley!"  It was becoming difficult to maintain his concentration in so many different directions and Nolo was wondering at teh effectiveness of his spell as he could not sense this beast.  Still, patience was usually rewarded so he maintained his position and course of action until the situation changed.  He was of course alert to the possibility that this beast, or whatever it was might come from any direction.

OOC: Actually when you said that I thought you and Vesp were outside, hence i di dnot respond to that post.
