Goblins and they fall like.

Mukhallad continues to attempt binding Girlud's wounds, unfortunately for the goblin the mage is out of his domain. Girlud's life hangs in the balance.

The Goblin leader looks over to Pello as he walks over to the Gnome. The leader kneels down into the entangled bushes and tries to set Pello's leg free, but he can not. So he starts to speak a bit with Pello.

The leader seems dazed as if he is acting out of character; his speech is some what slower as he tries to comprehend his words of friendship, definitely not something that happens on a day to day basis, at least not for goblins. (Girlud is an exception; he is trying to escape from the troubles of goblin life. Most however do not; they just go on with their lives as vile creatures of the earth with no intention of ever changing.)

None the less the lead goblin did offer assistance to Pello as he spoke. "I know not what I can do fer you, nor you fer me. But there is a nice heard of deer over yonder, they make a fine meal." he points west.

The mines are a bit to the East and North.

Mukhallad keeps bumbling about with the goblin's wounds, still no joy... he flails his head about and spies Milo before firing off a salvo of harsh words at the diminutive druid.

"Oh yes, deer sounds good. Quindil over there is rather handy with a bow, so that should mean that lunch is secured."

Pello looks around, trying to take on as relaxed a pose as possible with both legs beeing strangled by attentionstarved plantlife. He finally resolves to simply put his hands on his hips.

"So, what was such a strapping leader of brigands and cutthroats like you, doing here? Oh, and I gotta applaud you on the ambush. Really well done. I think it would have worked perfectly against any lesser intelligent person than such an intellectual lighthouse such as myself. But of course, that again leads to the question. Why the bother?"

Goblins and they fall like.

"We are hunters for the tribe. We collect good meat to save in our caves. Winter is soon to come, so we hunt often.  You and your friends would have made a nice meal for the Shamans. They would have seen yous as a prized meal, they would have promoted us."

He slowly speaks, continually scratching his head as if he is trying to figure out why he speaks with you.

After a few minutes the tangle starts to recede back to normal plant life.

Girlud twitches on the ground, poor Mukhallad is unable to do anything for the goblin. He pleads with Milo to assist him.

Last chance for Girlud. He either gets healed now or he dies.

"Understandable. Though I doubt I'd make a fine meal, except for the prestige, some of the tall folks seem to have plenty of meat on their bodies. And since they eat goblin, they can hardly complain that you try to eat them back."

Pello gains a thoughtful expression, and mutters to noone in particular, "Though.. with them having eaten goblins.. does eating back count as cannibalism? Could just stay away from the intestines I guess.. Unless they've already been digested.."

Pello shakes his head, and smiles friendly to his temporary goblin comrade.

"So. Where is this goblin tribe of yours? Not having eaten goblin myself, I'd really hate ending in the cooking pot for other people's sins, so if you could tell us how to circumvent your pals, it would be didly."

Erdthar fights the entangling as hard as he'd fought the goblins, and after long strugglew, manages to tear himself from their grip.  He rushes to save his goblin ally, but is unable to help him.  As the fierce little goblin dies between him and the wizard, his gaze then rises to the half-pint druid that had stood by to leave him bound, and to leave the goblin to die.  His expression wasn't pretty.

Vespian makes her way over as best she can as well. "Twice in battles he could have fled and yet twice he stayed by our sides, he could have shouted a warning to the other Goblins but he chose to hold our confidence." She sheds a tear and breathes a heavy sigh, "Though small in stature, he was a great warrior. He was honorable."

Lead Goblin speaking with Pello

"The Malauth tribe is all over these lands. Mostly to the north of here inside the mountains. But we have many factions of warriors’ combing the lands. The shamans of the tribe have appointed a new war master. He is Kurag, mighty and vengeful. He will lead us to victory. Soon, as far as one can see will be held by the Malauth. Even human towns and brigands will fall to his might, nor will any dwarf hold keep us from concurring what is rightfully ours."

Quindil salutes the fallen Goblin with his spear.  While Quindil never was really fond of the Goblin, Quindil isn't fond of a lot of things.  He had respect for a creature that size that would fight like that, however.

"Mines?" He says with a quizical look on his face as he scratches his head.

"You must mean that small dwarf hole not to far from here. Over younder in the foothills..." He points north and east. "well it used to be a dwarf hole, not so much any more. But its not too far from here, just head that way, and then when you start to get close to the mountains, follow allong the ranges' front edge heading east. Then, nested up on the hill side you will see the cave entrance." As he tells you the direction he uses his hands to tell most of the story, making diffrent shapes to signify the mountains and  cave entrance, as well as pointing this way and that.

While others were talking to the goblin convert, erdthar was digging a hole in the soft forest loam.   When he reached five feet deep, he took the body of Girlud and wrapped it in a sqare of canvas from his pack, and placed him in the hole.  "Does anyone here know good words to say over a fallen comrade?"  He asked.

After the ceremony, he buthered a fallen goblin, taking the choicest cuts to eat as a trail snack as they marched.  "Northwest you say?  Good, lets go then."

"Nah, northeast." Pello replies Erdthar offhand, and poses the goblin leader a question "Say, would you mind following us in that direction? After all, if we were to meet another goblin hunting group, it might be good if you could tell them that we ain't such an easy meal as one might think. That would probably save us a few pints of blood and your clan a few dozen bodies."

Re: Goblins and they fall like.

A small ceremony is held for the passing of Girlud. Snivels fill the air for a breef moment as everyone says their peace. Even the lead goblin bows his head for a minute.

"I will travel with you. We should be going soon. Let me grab my things." He then tightens his backpack strap, and combs the battle field for his thrown javelins. After retreaving the weapons he looks at Pello signalling him to move ahead.
The goblin leader walks close to Pello.

The group starts to head north and east shortly after Erdthar finishes butchering one of the goblins. Before they head out the lead goblin takes intrest in Erdthar's work. "May I have bit of that. I am a bit hungry." The goblin licks his lips as he awaits Erdthar's answer.

Since he never put away his morningstar, he keeps at the ready. He whistles a little song to himself about Brave Sir Robin...who ran away.

Re: Goblins and they fall like.

The group moves along toward the mountains in hopes of finding the Cryoden Mines. Not long after you begin your journey you begin to notice that the Goblin leader's attitude is shifting back to its normal self. The goblin is becoming more agitated and he starts to growl at certain things as you pass by, he even begins to ignore the conversations.
The forest clears into high mountain plains, from the edge of the wood you can look across a field to the massive mountains Rauvin. The march to the mountains seems as if it will be an easy one, with very few if any obstacles. The sun is high and it seems as if today is going to be the day we reach the mines.

Charm Effect will shortly end. Any plans on what you will do with the goblin?

I was trying to build up a bonus to my persuasive abilities. *shrugs* I shall try without.

Vespian tosses her hair back a bit and smiles softly at the Goblin Commander. She then speaks to him in Goblin. "You have said that you desire promotion. I know you are destined for greatness! It will be years before the Shamans recognize that, I see it now. Join with us, and before the season ends your enemies will die upon your Spear and you will be the great goblin Overlord of your tribe!"

The Mine!!!

After the goblins’ retreat from the stream the adventures found a nice spot to set and take rest for a few moments as they gathered their wits.
Once the party was well rested they set out north in search of the illusive Cryoden mines. After a few hours march they come to the foot of the mountain range, the awe-inspiring Rauvin Mountains towering above them in the distance.
The sky is clear with but a few clouds speckled here and there. The terrain before the peaks is not near as treacherous as one might think. In fact the foothills seem to be more of an open field with hills pushing there way out, in varies locations. The ground is covered in tall grass with many scrub oak bushes scattered across the hills. Pine trees are the most dominant species but a few Oaks and Maples force their way out of the ground in spots. Large boulders along with small rocks are scattered in no special fashion across the valley floor.

A short trek across a flat section of land and over a hill exposes you to your quest. There on the hill you see a large cave mouth with a wide trail that winds through the foothills up to the entrance. Next to the trail is a cluster of boulders; possibly a land mark used for identifying the trail during winter.
That must be the Mines!

The trail appears to be empty, but it does travel further into the foothills, not all of the trail can be seen from here.

Full hp for all.
Skills if you wish along with the plan of action
