Old Jalanthar
As the group starts to settle down and eat some of the fish Milo caught, other boats start to pull up onto the shore. A large barge along with two smaller vessels pulls up and ties off for the night. Many of their crew set to the shore for a small cook out.
The night goes on without incident. The cookout on shore turned out fairly good. They invited all the boat’s crews along, many didn’t go, but it was a nice offer.

19th of Fading Midday
On the morning of the third day a small village comes into view downriver. As you get closer you notice that the buildings are all abandoned and destroyed, what is left is but a pile of sod and rubble. A wooden keep that once stood near the center is now collapsed in upon it self, the timbers now dry and gray from weather and sun.
Charlie points to the ruins. ”Thast old Jalanthar. You’ll have ta hike in to Jalanthar proper. Its North near the foothills. Not too far though.
We’ll be get’n there right about midday.”
The sun is high when you round a bend in the river and approach what looks to be a river dock on the north side of the river. Two boats sit in the dock, a group of men along with a dozen or so donkeys stand close by the dock, they look to be shoot’n the bull. Attached to the dock is a large but squat fortress like building that has been covered up on three sides by earth and grass. Only the river side is exposed.
The area around is beautiful. Grass covered knolls cut through by the crystal clear river, roll into, tall majestic mountains, their peaks covered in snow. Soaring pine trees litter the area and get thicker as they get closer to the mountains. Small groves of aspens poke their way through the thick pines, their leaves turning a bright orange from the seasons. Clear blue skies with white puffy clouds forming near the mountains.
Charlie smiles a full tooth grin. ”Here's the spot. And a might faster than we thought. We made good time.
When you get into Jalanthar, check out the Crowing Cockatrice, but I don’t need ta tell ya that. It’s the only darned thing in Jalanthar. He laughs.
”Have fun”
Getting off the boat you see a well worn trail the heads North into the mountains.
