I put in a new hard drive and installed chrome. All the character portraits are showing up as Sorry picture not available.

How do I fix this?

Is it only Chrome that's giving you issues?  Do they still show up using other browsers?

Female portraits are stored on http://rpol.creativelass.net/
Male portraits are stored on http://rpolportraits.shannara-rose.com/

If you're not getting anything at all from any browser, might need to run a ping test on those to make sure you actually have a clear connection between your PC and the image host.

Sometimes an image comes through, but most won't. Similar issues from all browsers on my laptop only. I tried running a trace from command prompt but getting a message that it is not a recognized command.

So, you don't have the problem on other devices connected to the same internet connection as your laptop, just on that machine?

If that's the case, then it might be a piece of software and/or the OS that's blocking connections to the servers.

As for your trace failing, that error sounds like you're inputting the command wrong.  Might need to do some googling for the exact syntax if you want to check the connection via the ping or tracert command.

This started happening after I replaced the hard drive. I would love to find out that is doing this.

Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with your hard drive.  There is just a problem somewhere along the way between your computer and where the portraits are stored.

It could also be that your cache is now storing when there was a problem.

I tried clearing the cache and all kind of things, but it's not helping. This has been a problem for several months now.

Then, I'm afraid, there's nothing I can suggest to help.

Flushing your DNS cache may help with this problem.
