Greetings! I'm very new here, and fairly new to RPoL in general, but I've been gaming online for many years and writing for even longer. I tend towards longer posts, but in general I'll write about as much as my partner(s) do. Generally I'm a slow-ish but steady poster, at least several posts a week, more if the muse is really with me. Female main characters are my usual, and I prefer male / female pairings, but I have no problem with writing minor characters of any gender.
As for what I'm looking for in a partner, patience is always good -- I'm usually online often, but of course life will happen. And if you feel like the story isn't working out for whatever reason, let me know! If it isn't fixable, no hard feelings.
In the case of historical plots (see favorite genres, below), I'd also like some general knowledge of the time period. While I do enjoy reading history, I'm no expert myself and don't expect every detail to be correct as long as the overall feel of the setting is good.

A few basics, in no particular order:
- I prefer original worlds to fandoms, primarily because I don't know a lot of fandoms. (The one exception to this general rule is Star Trek, as I often can't resist a good yarn in that setting.) As for modern day settings, I like those with a touch of something else added -- for example, a very few people have super powers and must deal with the effects of those on an otherwise ordinary life.
- Characters, characters, characters. I love creating nuanced characters and bringing them to life during the course of the story -- and often it's just as much fun to see other characters develop.
- Worldbuilding is also fun. I will happily spend hours on creating timelines for alternate history settings, for instance.
- Attraction and sexual tension between characters are absolutely fine, but Im not interested in that as the sole focus of a story. Other mature themes are also fine (history isn't always pretty, after all), though I generally avoid anything too dark.
Favorite genres, again in no particular order:
- Historical. Favorites here include medieval and Renaissance England / Europe and ancient Egypt, as I'm better versed in those eras, but other times are always possible.
- Alternate history. I once created a timeline up to the present day for what might have happened if the Gunpowder Plot had succeeded. Yes, I am a history geek.
- Supers. Usually street-level, but I can be persuaded to play more powerful characters as well.
- Modern-day fantasy. The usual vampires and werewolves are all right as part of this setting, but I'd also like something a little different here as well.
- Low fantasy. More specifically, low magic.
- Sci-fi / time travel. The galaxy's the limit!
