Vincent was one of Queen Mathilde's top diplomats, until he made the very big mistake of expressing an opinion which the queen and her new friends didn't want to hear. The Queen decided that Vincent and his old-fashioned ideas were no longer needed, and expelled him from her presence and the castle. Traveling south trying to put as much distance between himself and the Queen as possible, Vincent was apprehended by Punishers and thrown in prison just before chartering a ship at Seagram's Cove. He was bailed out by a pretty red-haired young woman who seems to stick around him a little closer than he'd like.

Vincent now travels with other like-minded individuals, many of whom he still has yet to get accustomed to. He's used to things being a little unpredictable, but still understandable, but this new group is getting to be downright baffling. As intelligent as Vincent is, his relatively low exposure to non-human races leaves him wondering what's going on. Still, he's observant and quick to assimilate new information. Are elves really that arrogant? Are dwarves that stubborn? Do gnomes really spontaneously combust? Except for that last one, Vincent wants to find out.

As luck would have it, Vincent soon found himself heading back to the very city that expelled him in the first place. However, now he travels to set straight the wrongs he had to leave behind: now he travels as the Knight of the New Moon.
