Killian Darkwater

Well, they sure don't make 'em like that any more - at least not anywhere where fire has become something more commonplace than a technological novelty. Killian (because so far, that's the only name he's been inclined to admit to) certainly cuts a primordial figure with his rather considerably more than six and a half foot frame normally stooped forwards into a more manageable six-two or so, though his crest (when extended in times of excitement) adds a good few more inches to the total. His features are much like his build - broad, stocky and with a distinctly rectangular quality that might put the average onlooker in mind of some sort of heavy earth-moving tool rather than a sentient being, but there's a certain stripped-down, primal sophistication to his general appearance that sets him apart from his kin, one only enhanced by the definite glow of intelligence in his yellow-gold, slit-pupilled gaze.

Small, sharp fangs set into a short muzzle, neat little retractile claws on each hand and an all-over body covering of supple, green-gold scales give a pretty good clue as to his species, compounded by the long, nearly prehensile tail and the occasional flash of his head crest, and his standard clothing (which is robust, if primitive) of carefully adjusted once-human-fitted leather armour with a heavy robe thrown over the top for warmth, is (let us be honest) almost certainly going to fail to fool anyone not meeting him on a dark night... a very dark night. For armament and equipment, things aren't a whole lot better - for the most part his possessions are simple and readily made - a fur bedroll, a cunningly worked wooden club edged in black obsidian and wicked, demonic-looking fangs or a carefully-crafted wooden shield, even his pack seems to have been fashioned by hand from available resources and decorated with subtle beadwork in intricate patterns though the strips of eagle-feather-decorated crocodile hide and the slender tabled of engraved turtle shell about his neck are particularly fine work.

He's occasionally seen by the perceptive to be accompanied - subtly - by a damn' great snake, pale green in colouration with silver-pale eyes and an extremely dark mouth which usually makes its home somewhere between the lizardfolks armour and his cloak, hitching a ride as the shaman goes about his business.
