quote:
I'm an ordinary man, who desires nothing more than just an ordinary chance, to live exactly as he likes, and do precisely what he wants.  An average man am I, of no eccentric whim, who likes to live his life, free of strife, doing whatever he thinks is best for him, well, just an ordinary man.
My Fair Lady

Out in the rest of RPoL, I'm Genghis the Hutt.  Outide of that, I'm me.  Outside of that, it's too dark to read who I am, to cadge a phrase from Groucho Marx and give it a little twist. ;)

I used to be literally an ordinary man and spoke of myself as such.  The ordinary man picks up the phone and...  In the hospital thread, I was an ordinary doctor, etc.

But an event occurred which triggered an apotheosis.  I now have a monkey tail (no relation to the Dragonball series) and my rabbit ears enable me to understand and speak the rabbit language.  I also have the horns of a stag.  And I'm a Pyromancer.  Not just any pyromancer, I'm a pyromancer professor, a board-certified Lord of the Fiery Cauldrons of Flesh Roasting (aka Barbecuer).  I spend a good deal of my time in a place of Fiery Flesh Roasting and Other Types of Food Preparation®.  Luckily, I get to spend most of my time over by the window.  It's kind of small and difficult to climb out of, though.

I written, I mean, I:
My favorite class has always been Transfiguration.  I taught a weekly lesson at the Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a little over a year back around the turn of the century.  I often found myself reminiscing about Sarah during the course of my weekly lessons and how we'd been getting on during that week.

That was before I became a pyromancer -- about all I knew how to do was personal transfiguration, but I was a pro at it, although the dark events of 2003 have since greatly impeded my abilities in that area.  Those were dark times.  1998 to 2002 was a particularly tumultuous time in the wizarding world, noting the death of Dumbledore in June of 1997 and all the turmoil and related scuffels that went on afterwards.  The many radical changes for the worst in Great Britain couldn't help but have an effect on us in the "former colony".

The greatest strengths of our nation, that we not only acknowledge that America is a melting pot of all civilizations, but that we flaunt our Yiddishisms and our Spanglish, that through the centuries the many varied threads that make up the tapestry of this country have only served as a great blanket of protection against the horrible changes being enacted in the Great Britain wizarding society.  Although many proceeded to hide under  blanket, there were many of us who took a strong stand against evil in those days.

I myself didn't teach under a name that I've ever used since.  So as to keep myself from becoming too widely noticed, I went by the name of Professor Trabat.  When the school was broken up and we all had to go underground, I dropped that name and have never used it since.  I suppose it's safe now, but old habits sometimes die hard.  I only wish the same could have been said for the Salem School of Witchraft and Wizardry as its demise was quick and completely unforseen.

My personal transformation is once more complete.

Well, it was.  My powerset is now mainly radiation emission with some illusion powers.  These are my powers...
  1. Spectral Wounds -- I wave my hand and you lose 54/6 damage.  Since it is illusionary, you regain 24/3 hp each round afterward.
  2. Radiation Aura -- a small radius, small effect party AoE heal
  3. Accelerate Metabolism -- a party AoE buff that adds 20% to base damage, speeds power recharge by 20%, increases run speed by 24%, increases endurance recovery by 24%, and adds 4 defense.
  4. Superior Invisibility -- a personal buff that reduces enemy perception down to only 3 micrometers where I'm concerned.
  5. Group Invisibility -- AoE group defense buff (+7.5 defense or so) that reduces enemy perception range by 50 feet -- lasts for two minutes and has a four minute recharge.
  6. Phantom Army -- I fabricate three phantom heroes around a foe.  They are not real and are indestructible. They attack with spectral wounds, though, so the foe will heal back up if it survives long enough.  Phantoms aren't real and so cannot be buffed.  This power has a long recharge time.
  7. Phantasm -- I fabricate a phantasmal hero who has the phantom army power.  The phantasmal hero is only semi-illusional and he has no ontological intertia, so as soon as he is killed, his phantom armies disappear.  This power has a very long recharge time.
  8. EM Pulse -- along with knocking out nearby computers and other electronic devices, it's even powerful enough to affect synaptic brain patterns.  It drains the endurance and hp regeneration of all affected targets and leaves then incapacitated and Held for a short moment.  It triply affects robots.  This power drains me quite a bit and leaves me unable to recover endurance for a while.  It has a very long recharge time.
  9. Lingering Radiation -- a fairly large enemy AoE that is an effective slow which affects both movement and recharge rate.  It has a decent duration and can be stacked.
  10. Choking Cloud -- toxic radioactive gas that leaves foes choking and helpless.
  11. Mutation -- using a concentrated burst of radiation, I revive a fallen ally and mutate him into a killing machine.  The mutated target has increased damage, accuracy, endurance recovery, and attack speed.  The experience is very draining and after a few minutes the ally will be severely weakened.  All effects of mutation eventually wear off.
  12. Radiant Aura -- It infects a foe with deadly radiation, severely reducing his accuracy and defense.  All foes that come near the target will become infected.  I have no ontological inertia, so as soon as I stop sustaining the power, all foes will cease being infected

My travel power is super jumping -- I can leap medium buildings in a single bound and my forward speed when jumping is quite fast (approximately 95 miles per hour).

Wow, I haven't edited this for a long time. I'm a bookkeeper now.
