APPEARANCE

Katan stands at about 13 feet. His body is composed of black metal with patches of dark purple darkwood. His frame is that of a narrow build, quite deceptive of his weight. He walks with a dancers gait. He wears his hair in locks made of black mithral in one long pony tail, going as far down as his waist. He has no mouth or nose. His face is constructed as a featureless mask, reminiscent of a ninja's mask. His voice comes out as a low rumble, grating sound, never more than a whisper. He wears belt of giant strength designed to look like an golden obi. Unlike most forged built by House Cannith, Katan looks and acts more human than robot or construct. This may be due to the fact that he was created by the last Living Forge on the Plane of Shadow. He has a rune carved into his forehead, written in Ancient Elven, that translated means "hunter of the shadow". He is quite sociable and is normally seen in the company of the flesh races, who he holds no grudge or prejudice against. Katan is usually wandering the wilderness seeking to fight evil in whatever form he can find it.

HISTORY / BACKGROUND

Katan was created, on the Plane of Shadow, by the Living Forge to protect it, while it fled the onslaught of the Dragon-Demon War. The other Living Forges were detroyed. Over time the Living Forge created better protectors and sent Katan to the material plane in an effort to stop anything like the Dragon-Demon war from ever happening again. Katan's mission was to hunt and kill aberrations that would possibly disturb the peace on the material plane.

Since Katan's arrival on the Material Plane, has been hunting. His travels have taken him over the continent of Khorvaire, with frequently visits to the Eldeen Reaches and Demon Wastes. He has been to Xendrik but found that the troubles of that continent lie with fighting amongst mortal foes as opposed to extraplanar foes.

Over the course of his adventuring, he has heard rumor of the Lord of the Blades and his mission to unite Warforged from all lands. This has lead him to the Mournland in search of the famed lord. The Living Forge has informed katan that the Lord of the Blades may have been a creation of one of the otehr living forges and has explained what it believes to be the difference between Warforged creations of House Cannith and those created by the living forges. With that in mind Katan has set out to find the Lord of the Blades and study him and his motives as a side quest to his original mission.

It has been 13 years since coming to the Material Plane. Since has arrival, Katan has come across many adventurers and has allied with them temporarily on many occassions, but the last group of adventurers have become more friend than temporary ally. He has been with them ever since and now finds himself in what the races of flesh consider a farming community. He has come to realize that the community has no able bodied warriors as a result of the Last War, which was fought nation versus nation. So he hsa decided to stay with the present party in this community, to act as defender and assist wherever he can with the lives of the villagers. In a sense one may say he has become fond of them.
