Tristram is a handsome man in his thirties of powerful physical build. Despite an imposing physical presence, and an impressive array of weaponry at hand, there is a definite sense of good about the man.
Tristram is rarely seen without his polished and well-maintained armor. His demeanour and manners clearly speak of a privileged upbringing, though no coat of arms can be seen on his tunic or armor, and he carries no shield.

His story is no secret, and he will tell it for anyone asking for it. Tristram was born a noble and heir of a small barony in the Western Heartlands. Long story short: his cousin raided the family stronghold, called out his father in single combat and won using trickery. And if that wasn't enough the keep fell due to treason by Tristram's governor and teacher; the family mage.
Tristram, a young squire, was sold to slavers and ended up a gladiator in Chessenta, where he was taught to use the chain. He did well in the arena, even though his sometimes non-lethal approach to fighting was much disliked by some, he was loved by so many others. In the end the situation became untenable as the betting odds were so heavily in his favor that gambling on games he participated in became trivial. He was set free, given a sack of money, and deported.
Tristram has now criss-crossed the continent, looking for ways to gain fame and fortune, with the ultimate goal to reclaim his heirdom and avenge his fathers death. He's once more ended up in Chessenta, doing what he does best: arena combat.
