In appearance and speech, Thud is more orc than human.  His jutting brow and deepset eyes make him very distiguisably orcish, as does his gutteral accent when speaking common from years of speaking nothing but orcish.  The scars on his face and body from years of battle don't help his look, and in any light he is threatening and borders on monsterous.  Thud makes his way by living off the land, thieving, and taking treasure from slavers once he's freed thier captives.
