Description:

Mara stands at 6 ft 5, weighting approximately 350 pounds. Her hair is white and kept short, though there is one lock she keeps out that reaches halfway down her back. She has yellow eyes and light ebony skin, which has gotten an orange glow from Changing into a Dragonite. Mara has numerous traits marking her as a Pokemon, most notably horns, claws on hands and feet, a scaled tail, a set of spiny scales running across her spine and a pair of wings large enough to enable her to fly. The changes to her muscle tissue and bone structure are almost immediately apparent to anyone looking at her back. She is capable of breathing fire, though does not yet have a firm grasp on mastering it.

In terms of clothing, Mara's options are very limited. The spikes following her spine restrict her options to more durable sets of clothing, and in general she just ties reinforced leather wraps around her breasts and hips. Even then, her clothes are in need of repairs on at least a biweekly schedule, but at least it's something.

History:

Mara lived a relatively peaceful life as a school teacher, until the change happened. The town that was her home was attacked by a Dragonite, and though it was eventually driven off it had left the townspeople decimated. She herself had a nasty burn on her shoulder, and almost half the village was either in ruins or on fire.

A defense was formed, and even though more attacks followed the damage never really amounted to the level of the first attack, which had caught them completely unprepared. When Mara started exhibiting signs of the Change she was thrown out as well, the townspeople wary of anything that had to do with Pokemon.

Rather than sit around and mope, she trained her newfound abilities, having a singular goal. During this time her Change progressed fast, but she did not care. When she was satisfied with her abilities, she waited for the Dragonite to appear again, and followed it back to the cave it lived in. There, as it turned to see who had dared intrude upon its domain, she wordlessly drew a dagger, and combat began.

Them being in a cave worked to Mara's advantage, as the space was too confined for the Dragonite to use aerial combat. Mara, despite taking several hits herself, went on a rage-fueled offensive that pressed the Dragonite into a corner, and could only watch the dagger sink into its chest, killing it.

Her vow of vengeance fulfilled, Mara would keep living in the cave for a while, until she noticed movement in a farm she could overlook from the cave entrance. She would keep watching, interested at what the village was growing into yet too aware of what she had become to approach.

When one of the inhabitants ventured too close to the cave, she was spotted, and with an irritated growl she sent the Eevee Changeling running for its life back to the village. She went back into her cave, annoyed that she had been found out, knowing that discovery would now be inevitable.

What surprised her however was the Eevee returning... carrying a set of clothes that she had left by the entrance. She had not worn any in a while, what had survived her Change so far had been reduced to scraps during the battle with the Dragonite several years ago. Her human side was ecstatic at the prospect of wearing clothes again, and even though it was an odd fit in some... well, most places, she was grateful for it.

When the Eevee returned again, introducing herself as Lisa, she gave her the benefit of the doubt, and started talking to her. It had been a while since she had last used her voice, and her attempts at making words caused Lisa to giggle, in turn causing an embarrassed blush on her behalf. Lisa started visiting Mara often, usually just talking about how her day had been, and eventually Mara started trusting her enough to leave her cave and head into the village.

Truth be told, she had spent most of the trip so tense and with her guard up that the hair on her neck felt like it stood on end, but a few odd looks were the worst she was given by the townspeople, quite a few of them sharing one Changeling trait or another.

She met a Metagross Changeling named Sati who proposed the idea of forming a defense force to her, and together with Alexandra agreed on teh formation of it. It would be led by her and Sati, with Sati being Second in Command to allow her time for her research. Though she still considers the cave her home, she can usually be found on the top level of the old guard tower housing the SDF.
