Lucas

Sergeant Lucas "Lucky" Wheeler

Age: 28
Hair: Dirty Blonde
Eyes: Blue
6'1" , 215 lbs

four years ago, Myanmar

"copy six, in position" Lucky said as he rested behind his scope, watching the suspected terrorist cell members.

"We are green light. teams one and two, go." six ordered.

Lucky watched as two squads of eight men each converged on the small camp site.  What happened scarred Lucas since. Something tipped off the targets and they counter attacked, but unlike anything Lucky had seen as streaks of energy cut down his team members after the terrorists had hidden beneath some sort of strange animal like helmets. He leveled his 700 and began laying down cover shots. he saw his rounds ricocheting off chest plates before he changed his focus and began picking off weak points in the armor and dropped two of them for certain.  Next thing he knew, one of the terrorists fired on him and he was spinning through the air before striking his head on landing.

He woke at Rammstein, and his story of what had happened was discounted by higher ups as attributed to post concussion syndrome from the blast of an ied. Lucky tried to fight it, but the brass had their story rock solid and Lucas was kept away from anyone that might listen. Strangely, none of the others in the squad had arrived for medical treatment. His injuries turned out to be serious enough to get him shipped state side. as he continued his rehab, until two men in suits came to see him. They asked questions about the fire fight he was hurt in.  Lucky soon realized they were really there to convince him to change his story if he wanted to advance his career beyond corporal. He asked for some time to think about it, and shortly there after an accident claimed his fiance and he took a pension and retired after a breakdown.

Three years ago, Nebraska

Things were going half decent for Lucas, with him getting a job at the local saw mill to supplement his pension after he moved close to his birthplace when he got a strange text. It was from Lt. Rayner, his former team leader. It told him basically to watch his back, because something funny was going on with the survivors of the team on the  Myanmar mission. That night, he got home and noticed something odd. The lights were on at the house across the street, but he knew the elderly couple were vacationing in Europe and the van in the yard was not their daughter's, since he knew she had a motorcycle. He packed up what essentials he needed, and over the next two days, he smuggled many of his belongings into his truck. On the third, he stopped at and ATM, cleaned out his life savings, dropped the simm card from his cell phone in the trash and disappeared.

Eight months ago, New Hampshire

Lucky knew they were looking for him when a two men in uniform driving a black Humvee had shown up at the docks while he and his crew mates were loading supplies for the upcoming trip. When the foreman pointed him out, the paranoia that had been growing in him reared its head and he bolted. What he did not know was there were more of them until he rounded a corner and ran into two of them. He was prepared to fight back when the female officer called him by name, "Corporal Lucas Wheeler. You are being reactivated for special assignment. you will be accompanying us, with or without your co-operation." He managed two steps before one of them hit him with some sort of taser that knocked him flat.

Secured in the rear of the Humvee, Lucky was surprised when the officer apologized and then began to explain that they had been trying to locate him for some time, and that they had even contacted Lt. Rayner to try to locate him. Knowing the lieutenant had always been a bit of a doomsayer, it did not surprise Lucas that he had been fooled.  It did indeed have to do with the Myanmar mission, but it was because of his ability to adapt to the terrorists capability that they wanted him, not his involvement. He was surprised to find out he had killed one and wounded two of the Jaffa ( they called them) seriously before he had been diabled. He didn't understand why that was impressive, but thanked the Captain and rode in silence.

Their final destination surprised him even more when he was brought to an underground complex in Montana. There he was greeted by the base commander, and given an introduction to whatever they called the Stargate project. He later found out that he had been force into reactivation due to the combination of his actions in Myanmar, his service record before he retired due to personal reasons, and the fact the base commander "liked" him. He was being given a choice, but it was a very tough one. A very unorthodox method was used to convince him as the General himself asked Lucky to play ball hockey with him. An avid fan, Lucky agreed and partway through, he commented on the skills of the man playing nets against them. The General smirked, and introduced Tea'c and told Lucky that he was a Jaffa like the men from Myanmar and what he really was. It took a long conversation (and a fifth of Johnny Walker the General  may or may not have produced), but Lucas agreed to the reactivation and a promotion to sergeant. He joined SG-19 originally as team shooter, but worked his way up to XO. Then the opportunity to join a new initiative came up and he jumped on board.
