Capt. Malcolm Webb

Name: Captain Malcolm Webb

Race: Human

Age: 43

Appearance:
Webb is a broad shouldered athletically built man who stands just over 6' 2".  He has well defined features, short dark brown hair streaked with grey and dark brown eyes.  The tip of his index finger on his left hand is missing just above the nail.  Webb lost the digit as a teenager in a game of Parrises Squares.

Personality:
Referred to sometimes as a "War Time" Captain, Webb is a man of unshakable nerve with the reputation of being a cold calculating tactician.  But those closest to him know his actions are guided by a strong sense of loyalty to ship and crew and a deep rooted sense of right and wrong that does not always fall in line with Star Fleet protocol.  An avid mountain climber and three time Parrises Squares champion while in the Academy, Webb enjoys the sports and physical competitions of various worlds.

Bio:
Born aboard the Meridian, a civilian transport ship, Malcolm Orin Webb spent the formative years of his life as a boomer, traveling the Galaxy with his mother, father, and three siblings.

At the age of ten Malcolm contracted an alien virus.  The Meridians doctor was unable to treat it, and had it not been for the timely run in with the USS Cochrane the virus would have most certainly killed the young boy.  Malcolm spent several weeks recovering aboard the Oberth class science ship, and during that time became enamored with Starfleet.  The chance encounter had a growing impact on the years to come.

As Malcolm grew older his raw athletic ability began to emerge.  By the age of Fifteen he was working as a full member of his fathers crew and  had been to more worlds and interacted with more species than most Starfleet officers twice his age.

Malcolm's infatuation with Starfleet continued to grow, and as it did he grew increasingly dissatisfied with the life of a boomer.  Malcolm's father, Lucian Webb, disapproved of his sons desire to join Starfleet and voiced it at every opportunity. This caused an ever growing rift between them.

A year later the Meridian made a port of call to Earth.  It was the first time the young man had ever been to the home world of his parents.  Much to the disapproval of his father Webb remained on Earth where he lived with his Aunt and Uncle in North Georgia.

Executive Officer aboard the USS Thunderchild  during the Dominion war, Webb took command after a Crippling attack nearly destroyed the Akira Class ship.  Under Webb's direction the ship fought off a Jem'Hadar boarding party and made patchwork repairs allowing them to return to the fight.  In route to rendezvous with the main battle fleet the Thunderchild picked up  a Bajoran distress call.  Webb diverted their course in order to come to the aid of a small group of civilian transports.

Engaging two Cardassian battle cruisers the badly damaged Thunderchild managed to destroy both enemy vessels in a display of superior tactics and what Webb referred to as uncommon valor by his crew.  The victory incorporated a maneuver Webb referred to as the "Death roll", executed with perfection by then newly appointed tactical officer Sam Leatherwood.  Though victorious the battle left the USS Thunderchild nearly dead in the water and unable to rejoin the main battle fleet for the final battle of the War.

Although minor in the larger scope of things Commander Webb's actions during the Dominion War are well known by the Bajoran people granting him almost folk hero status among them.  Some of the people saved in the transport convoy included some of the highest ranking members of the Bajorian religious cast, Diplomats of various worlds, and numerous Innocent civilians.
