PHYSIQUE: 6'6" Tall Weight: 245 lbs.   Taken from the song by Jimmy Dean 'BIG JOHN'   He's known as "A GIANT OF A MAN", he is a giant among men for both in size and in attitude.   He's not a monster in any scents of the word but more a gentle giant.   He has black hair with a white streak in it.   The hair is in a Japanese Samurai's top knot.   Due to his size, he wears custom fitted uniforms or civilian clothes when not in uniform.   Mostly though when not in uniform he wears kimonos.


PERSONALITY: He is known as a Gentle Giant of a man.   This is because he is soft spoken with everyone, would give the shirt off his back, there have been many times of that happening.   Plus he has both the patience and faith of a child.   He believe the good in people whether Feringi, Human or Klingon.   Religion has always played a part in his life however since the war he has become a devout Christian.   (THAT MIGHT HAVE TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT HE DIED DURING THE WAR.)

In short, Grant has a big heart of which he uses all the time.   Another thing that has been said of Grant that he wears his feelings on his sleeves.   That may be true because he is easily offended by ridicule and disrespect of his Humanity.   To change gears from his emotions, Grant fell in love with both Russia and Japan.   This happening while on a field trip.   He likes the code of Bushido and the honor it possesses.   Reading actual hard bound books and old mid 20th century rock and roll along with classical country from that era he enjoys listening to.   (rock and roll and country from 1940's to the 1970's)

BACKGROUND:
Grant was born in San Francisco, his father worked for Starfleet at the time and has worked with them off and on again for 40 years now.   His father's rank was and is a captain and his mother was a teacher at his high school.   She retired after 35 years ending around the start of the war.

Around age seven, Grant acquired the nickname of "GIANT".   After initial discomfort because he didn't understand it, he got used to it and it stuck.   Grant got it from one of the kids in his first grade class because he was the tallest kid there.   After being called a giant his Father started calling him "BIG JOHN" after the song BIG JOHN. It was at this age he was introduced to the music he grew to like.   It was a few years later when he started to read that he grew to love actual books.


(BIG JOHN DIED ON HIS SHIP DURING THE WAR.   HE WAS SERVING IN THE ENGINEERING DAMAGE CONTROL SECTION.   HIS SHIP SUSTAINED HEAVY   HIS SHIP SUSTAINED HEAVY DAMAGE BUT WAS STILL FIGHTING.   SOME MEN WERE TRIPPED BY FALLEN BEAMS, HEAVY SMOKE, FLAMES ETC. WELL LIKE IN THE SONG "BIG JOHN" SEVERAL MEN SCRAMBLE WHEN HE SINGLE HANDEDLY OPENED A HOLE FOR THEM TO ESCAPE.   UNLIKE THE SONG HE ESCAPED WITH THEM, HE BEING THE LAST ONE OUT.   AMIDST ALL THE CHEERING HE COLLAPSE FROM BURNS, RAD EXPOSURE, CUTS AND BRUISES. ETC.   HE WAS TAKEN TO SICK BAY.   WHERE HE DIED ON THE OPERATING TABLE.   TAKEN TO THE MORGUE, IT WAS HERE THAT HE WOKE UP FROM DEATH.)   He has vowed since than to be both a better CHRISTIAN and a better person.

He want back to school to get further engineering recertification and training after the war.
