Ja'sha'a, daughter of Kamash, Leader of the tribe of the Faradhim, is a runaway.  Or more accurately, is on a mission without her father's approval.  She is one of the last blessed with a dying gift:  Windrunning.  Long ago, her people, as a race, held this gift, and were able to manipulate the wind.  Those with greater strength were even able to speak to others many miles away along its currents, and even travel in the flow of the wind, becoming the wind itself.  However, now, only she and her elder brother have been so gifted in this latest generation, and there is fear that the Gift will not be passed on.

8 years ago, while training to ride the wind, Ja'sha's brother vanished without a trace, lost in the wind.  Now, she is determined to find her missing brother, as she knows in her heart that he is alive, and she hears the whispers of him on the wind.  Ja'sha travels the world and all the places the wind goes now, searching for him, waiting for the day that they will be reunited.
