Akio is typically attired in blacks and golds when not at work. Typically his finely woven black tunics and trousers will be embrodiered with gold, particularly along the edges and often depicting sun motifs. He very often has a golden cloak on over everything else he is wearing, the clasp for which holds a hearthstone.

He is a handsome man whose Exaltation stopped his aging in his late 20's. Centuries of existance have made his exact apparent age hard to pinpoint, he face looks younger, but his eyes are very old. His features also make it difficult to determine his origin. He has white hair, a common Northern feature, and darkly tanned skin that one would expect to originate in the South. He stands at an average height and walks with easy grace. He seems to have an aura of calm, not often getting worked up or excited. The major exception comes when he has the chance to save a life - he is passionate about using his abilities to the benefit of others and this shows in the fervor with which he practices his chosen vocation.

When at work, he instead prefers a sterile white, often including an apron with many pockets in which he can store tools and other useful items for quick and easy access.

In the rare event that he goes into combat, he possess lamellar armor which he jokingly refers to as his 'battle scrubs' and a reaper daiklave he has named 'Scalpel'.
