Sophia of Anthegenia is a classically beautiful woman, with curly brown hair down to her waist, fair skin that freckles in the sun, and warm blue eyes. She is the benefactress of the Academy of Celestial Learning -- meaning it is her funds that have contributed the most to its continued development. As the adopted daughter of the Original Founders of Anthegenia, she is considered royalty, and her official rank is Princess. It is unknown exactly how old she is, but she is younger than Lonan.

Sophia is also Exalted, a Solar of the Twilight Caste. She is a consummate musician, traditionally favoring stringed instruments, but is best known for her achievements as a specialist in 'energy transference'. She applies the concept of transference to healing (transferring wound levels, diseases and derangements, taking them into her own body to purify), replenishment (transferring essence and willpower), data storage (transferring memories), and the creation of automatons (transferring souls from one vessel to another). She is also a sorceress of at least Celestial Circle, though she has limited her spell choices to those that contribute to creative, protective and regenerative processes.

She is officially bonded to a Lunar by the name of Anansi. But Anansi is a playboy and a wanderer, and spends most of his days away from Anthegenia on his airship, fulfilling missions that bring him to the far ends of Creation. It is an open secret that Lonan is Sophia's longtime lover; they share a deep relationship, one that has grown ever since he served as her tutor and advisor when she was a young Exalt. Anansi also knows this, but apparently has no problem whatsoever that Sophia prefers her former teacher.
