A Waning Moon and bonded husband of Princess Sophia of Anthegenia.

His rank is Lord-Captain of the Anthegenian Fleet, and his primary vessel is the Invierna, a sentient airship of moonsilver and unmelting ice.

Anansi presents himself as attractive, self-assured and aloof, with a casual manner of speaking. He seems to enjoy 'innocently' undermining the efforts of the more rigidly-minded professors. But his loyalty is still to Anthegenia, the Academy and Sophia, his unrequited beloved.

His relationship with Sophia is a rather complex one. In their youth he unthinkingly hurt and neglected her, more interested in airship travel, the game of seduction and getting involved in labyrinthine political plots. She used to be deeply in love with him, but his neglect drove her away, and into the arms of Lonan. Only later on in life he realized that he truly does love Sophia (or perhaps just thinks he does, now that she no longer worships him) but he has lost his chance at winning her heart. Anansi seems to carry no bitterness towards this, but still holds a torch for her.

His totem is a spider (though what kind of spider is not very well known).
