Not very tall (about 5'7"), Farden is very broad in the chest and shoulders, with trunk-like legs built from long hours of travel. He is clean-shaven, with short black hair and grey eyes, deeply tanned by the sun. His eyes generally twinkle with humor, and outside of battle he is a genial, thoughtful sort. In battle, he has the ruthless practicality of a professional soldier. In his spare time, he has a habit of amusing himself with a broad range of interests, to keep himself occupied, and has picked up a wide variety of esoteric knowledge.

Currently, he wears ordinary traveling clothes under a breastplate and carries a large wooden shield. He generally carries a javelin in his hand, (with several more strapped to his back), a longsword on his hip, and a dagger and a club for backup. A backpack with his worldly possessions completes the picture.
