Denrie comes from a woodland realm, where he was born to his Elven mother and Human father.  He was raised to be a ranger and help defend the forest home alongside his mother and her kin.  However, when he was still young, a raiding party of Giants and their evil kin invaded the forest.  Denrie was too young to fight with the trained defenders, but refused to flee with the other children.  He hid up a tall tree as the giants met the elves in a fierce battle. Finally the giants were driven off, but not without significant losses to the elves. Among the dead was Denries mother, most cruelly slain by a frost giant.  During the fighting, Denries father disappeared, perhaps captured by the giants, or possibly run off in fear, believing his wife and child to be dead.  Denrie removed his mothers armor and weapons and buried her himself.  He was inconsolable and vowed his hatred for giants and all their evil ways. To this day he continues to pursue justice, protect the weak, and defend nature.
