Biography: Catalina (Cat) was born to Marquez Alvarado in the ruins of Kingman. Her mother was blessed with the gift of beauty and voice, but instead of using that to gain prominence and maybe attract an influential man to cherish her, she was much more capricious. Attracting partners for what they could give her in the short term, Marquez went from man to man, often blowing up her own relationships. What she didn't think about was the example she set for Cat.

While Cat was never as jaded, by the time she was sixteen she had picked up many of her mother's bad habits. Though every bit as pretty, Cat had a more innocent appeal and had no problem attracting men. She was also smarter in that she let her charm get her as much as she could before sleeping with them. As a result she had fewer partners and better relationships, even though they were all doomed by the Alvarado aversion to lasting connections. Less and less interested in being around her mother's drama, Cat had a kind of double life. Either from her boyfriends or money she earned on her own by doing domestic work or even stripping, she had her own small apartment in the back of a garage-turned-saloon. That lasted until her mother demanded that she marry her latest boyfriend's son. Determined to make her own decisions, she fled Kingman in search of the amazing father she was always told about.
