Yoelle is an out-of-wedlock daughter of a noble named Sigurd Dawnstorm and a barmaid named Edvine. Being a bastard child, Yoelle wasn't allowed to be taken to Sigurd's household to be raised there. Still, the noble was aware of her existence and, after a dozen or so years of procrastination, decided that his daughter should be given a better life than that of a peasant. Instead, she was brought to a place called Red Valley, which was a place of residence of a small, but quite long-existing, group of mages. Yoelle was given a rare honour of becoming one of the group's apprentices.

Yoelle's tenure as an apprentice was turbulent, though. While she was an intelligent girl, it turned out she had little patience for studying and meditating... instead, she was drawn to the company of a band of warriors that served the Red Valley mages. Some said it was her father's warrior blood calling to her... Eventually, Yoelle grew up to be a rather unique person among the Red Valley residents: a minor mage who doubled as the community's messenger and agent in the outside world. While she still lives at the Red Valley, she's often travelling, performing missions on behalf of her wizard masters.
