- Dr. Jones, Jim for those who don't stand on protocol, has the cynicism of an old hand when it comes to his profession, his service, and most areas that don't interest him much. When it comes to science, however, Jim has the enthusiasm of a much younger man.
He generally doesn't put much effort into being a people person - the isolation of a Pathfinder tending to re-enforce this. But, he is quick to crack a joke and can be quite personable - switching between professional and easy going at a drop. His bedside manner isn't always the greatest, but his patients catch on quickly that he really cares.
Jim grew up on Espiaux in an isolated underwater habitat - longing to see alien skies. At 18 he joined a research venture and headed for the stars with hopes of becoming a scientist. The Free Republic Pathfinder Corps had other notions.
Now he is a free agent and he aims to pursue his lifelong ambitions.
Dr. Jones "I fix 'em, I don't break 'em" is adamantly against harming another sophont. He rarely ventures into a city, but is comfortable aboard spaceships, underground, in water, or on planet surfaces. He's also a Leo.
