Phillip (as in Phil EP) is a 5' 5", 148 pounds, 31 year old drifter.
He was born in 1894 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to his French Canadian mother and his iron ore mining father. Phillip speaks a oui bit of French.

After graduating high school he worked in an iron mine for several years. At the start of WW1 his mother asked him to help the French. So, at the start of WW1 he left the US and went to France to join up. He enlisted in the French Army as a sapper. He was tunneling along the front to plant explosives. During a 'dig' he found old artifacts and became interested in archaeology.

After the war he had had enough and set out to Australia to make a fortune in opals. (At least that was the story he heard). He fails at opal digging in Coober Pedy and starts drifting. He ends up in Adelaide and meets Simon at a pub where Phillip is throwing darts.  They become friends and become flat mates.

Phillip is about out of money and looking for a job...
