Brief History: Born to the Holder of a minor hold near Ista Hold, she grew up pretty and pretty forgotten as her father was gravely disappointed to not have had a son. Still she tried her best to excel at being a lady and learning from her mother how to be a lady to Holder as she was pretty sure someday her father would marry her off to some Holder or perhaps even a Lord Holder. Probably to his advantage if he did. Not something she looked forward to but what else could she do...?

Luckily fate had another plan for the young girl when she was spirited away to Ista Weyr as a candidate for a clutch there. It was a whirlwind experience as she found herself, pulled and dressed and shoved into a stifling hot cave and hatching groundsm, to stand as numbly as the other girls. The gold egg rocked and hatched....the clumsy golden beast making a beeline straight for Risl so that the teen lifted her voice to announce...

"Her name is Kilarth!" And that was all there was too it as Risl became the rider of gold Kilarth and Junior Weyrwoman of Ista Weyr.
