Personality: Cressida is shy, almost painfully shy and uncharacteristically shy for a green rider.  She loves reading and spending time alone or with her dragon, but seems very out of place in large gatherings.  Despite her impression, she seems to avoid attention.  She is extremely withdrawn around men and counts few women as friends, though many would be happy to be one to her.  Only around Shedith is she outgoing and happy, prone to giggling and singing songs softly for no reason.

Description: Cressida is a shy and fairly attractive girl, with fairly short auburn hair and striking brown eyes, standing a petite 5’1” and weighing 100 lbs.  She keeps her hair in a ponytail or braided to keep out of the way.

Brief History:  Growing up in Fort Hold, Cressida was the daughter of a weaver, learning the trade at a young age and happy in the role that the sometimes solitary craft allowed.  She was very surprised to be chosen on Search at the age of 14, and while she was not chosen on the first hatching, she was found by Shedith on the second, coming just after her 16th birthday.  She had never held any hope of being actually chosen, so when the little green came to her, it was as if her life had begun anew.  In many ways, it had.
Cressida found herself very much in conflict with the gregarious and often flirtatious green dragon.  The thought of a mating flight frightened the young girl, and her fright brought all manner of frustration to both her dragon and the WeyrlingMaster.  The decision was made to send the girl and her dragon to far-away Sea Cliff Weyr, with the hope that the distance and change of scenery might bring the girl out of her shell.

Dragon Description:  Much like her rider, Shedith is small, even for a green dragon, being barely 20 meters long, with an almost iridescent lighter green color, tinged at eyeridges, wingtips and tail with an orange/gold highlight.  She was the smallest dragon at Fort and seems a perfect match for her diminutive companion.

Dragon Personality: Shedith is considered by many to be the opposite of Cressida, with a sense of humor and desire for attention that is generally at odds with her shy rider.  She constantly tries to get Cressida to join in Weyr activities, to meet men, to do anything that might be fun, and is not above trying to trick her rider to engage in such activities.  Despite her clear annoyance at the shyness of her rider, she enjoys sunning and spending time with her and enjoys more the sea, which she plans to force Cressida to visit and play in on numerous occasions now that they have moved.
