Haji is the younger of the Basara brothers. They both served in the Egyptian Cavalry Corps in the Great War with distinction. Staunchly pro-British, they found themselves on the wrong side of the revolution that established Egyptian independence. They moved to England along with their families, they hoped to return one day to their homeland.
