Dracana Olisseva

Dracana Olisseva comes from highest of high nobility--at least, that was what she was told as a child.

Dracana was born to a human woman after a few passionate trysts with a tall, dark and winsome tiefling. While the father refused parentage and all responsibility (and disappeared soon-after the discovery), a tall, brooding elder male tiefling later appeared and requested the child, saying he was the grandfather. Her mother, with little second-thought, turned over the horned-babe for good.

Dracana grew at her grandfather's heels, traveling across the known world at his side, her ear always turned up for his quiet words of wisdom and experience. He'd been a great general, he'd say after downing half a bottle of bitter port. He led armies and slaughtered thousands of his house's blood-enemies with same sword he wore at his waist. Then he'd snooze for an hour before Dracana was forced to follow his wanderlust yet again. At night, camping in the woods, just before sleep, he'd tell her another story, sometimes one she hadn't heard, and he'd end the tale with some sort of cryptic advice she puzzled at deciphering.

When she was old enough, Dracana learned swordplay and crossbow. It was necessary, as her grandfather was often attacked or fighting, and often it seemed completely at random. Most were other tieflings.

As the years passed and Dracana grew older, she realized that her grandfather did not. One night, Dracana confronted him about it. He only looked at her. It was so unnerving she didn't ask after it again. The next morning, he was gone from their camp.

But Dracana was not a young pip, she was a woman by then, and the disappearance of her Grandfather, though it disturbed her, seemed... expected. Like he was training her and it was only inevitable that he would finally leave.
