Was born on the Edge of Holy Loch in Scotland
At the American hospital.

Her father was of mixed parentage Negro / Scottish and was a member of the base Police / Security detail.

Her mother was a Scottish nurse working in the local hospital.

They met when Arnold had been injured during an accident on base.

When Arnold was posted back to the United States as part of the security detail to Brunswick NAS
His then wife and daughter went with them.
Alice grew up on US Naval bases along the Atlantic Sea board.
Largely a good life, though being of mixed parentage did tend to keep her at arms length form a lot of people.
A navy brat she absorbed a lot of different things over the years but, finally settled in to the medical side as her mother had done.
Instead of a life stuck in a Hospital Maura decided to opt for the Road and paramedic life.
She attended the local college

By the time she was 21 here spare time was given to the Coast Guard Reserve  Where she held a position of Crash medic. as well as a helmsman's position on small and medium sized boats.
Through the years starting with her fathers training she has studied Aikido Jutsu as a martial art.
Recognising that some time you have to be able to put someone on the deck and to be able to walk away.
Things that come from this was a love of Japanese art, a skill in staff, and Japanese short sword
Her lessons followed down the road of Japanese lore and into Acupuncture and moxa herbs to treat long term sickness.

She attends Medical College and becomes a casualty nurse following her mother's steps.
Eventual growing board with life in the hospital.
She retrains as a paramedic, accepting a post with the crash wagon crews, volunteering for the chopper run.

The year is 1985 and a series of Storms hits the East Coast.
Her father and mother are involved in a freeway pile up and unluckily for Maura she is one of the paramedics called to the scene.
As she works through the horror of the crash her mind on auto pilot she becomes numb to it all.
Later at the end of the shift she sits in the Medical station arms curled around her knees.
The tears streaming down her face
In one cutting blow her life destroyed.
She knows that she will never again be able to ride the crash wagon or face the horror of the road crash.
Alice returns to reality hours later still in the room.
Gets up and hands in her notice and walk's out of the door.
The next thing she knows is standing on the front door step of there home.
She has no one left.
No family, no Boyfriend, No home.
Soon the navy will want it back.
Alice packed a small throw bag her qualification papers and survival gear and a rucksack took her Staff and her short sword.
And a few personal items and walked away.
Over the next year she crossed America living on what she had saved, working where she had to.

Some where along the way some one noticed skills being used.
Alice could never turn away from some one in trouble.
Even though it made her ill afterwards thinking about it.

Recruited by Morrow Industries, she finds her self in a strange world where these people are preparing people for some thing.
