Professor Litefoot is the premier pathologist working in London, permanently embroiled in one mystery after another, when he is not working as the Metropolitain Police's expert on the deceased of the metropolis.

He was a well turned out gentleman in later years, his now-grey hair carefully cut. His clothing was expensive, but not ostentatiously so, and while he was clearly a man who took care with his appearance, he was no follower of fashion. His face sported a moustache that was neither overdone nor ridiculous. He seemed to be well into his fifties, but there was a degree of fitness and animation in him, for he was trim of build and bright of eye. He might be long in years, but he was definitely still able to hold his own against what the world threw his way.
