Balthrok Deathhammer

Short even for his Kind he compensates this in with. His form is almost square his heavy golden hair flowing heavily from under his chimney shaped enclosed  helmet and a full suit of masterly crafted full plate is draped over his gilded body. The steel almost entirely black from being soaked in the blood of a 100 slaves and laid in with a pattern of Deurgar runes in gold and silver. Prayers to Hasut requesting the painful demise of enemies and a protecting fatherly hand for his loyal son. In the middle of the chest plate the symbol of the Blood Forge is set into it in crimson Gems and the ring finger of the left glove has a seal ring with the forge symbol worked into the glove itself.

His beard is full and well groomed, finely spun gold thick and heavy and absolutely flawless red rubies worked into it. The thin line that is his mouth sprouts two large golden tusks giving him a feral appeal. He carries a black leather backpack with the most essential tools on him at all times decorated with gold and silver work and a heavy dark crimson cloak rests on his shoulders covering most of his form. Its trim is set of in gold and the symbol of the blood forge is embroiled nicely in the middle of the cloak in gold also.

On his hip hanging from a heavy finely crafted belt hang two heavy well crafted hammers right behind two holsters holding a brace of engineer pistols with two barrels and on a shoulder  sling a dual barreled blunderbuss by the hands of a fine craftsman. Of late a mechanic looking golden appendage pops up from under his cloak at times to aid in tasks.

Bloodforge Service
Below is a list of runes known by Balthrok.
Cost is made up as follows:
- You pay for the masterwork item or provide it. Must be non magical.
- Regular Runes cost 500 Gold Crowns and 30 slaves (5 gold) a piece and any combination of 3 can go on a weapon/armor/talisman. You can only combine runes of the same type.
- Master Runes cost 2000 gold and 100 slaves (15 gold) a piece and only one can go onto a weapon/armor/talisman.
- If you want an item in a combination already sold price doubles as extensive rituals to break the universe have to be performed.

Inscription tests are tests of one week and is composed of Ballies Mag rating plus d10 from the sacrifice of 10 slaves. You can provide up to 20 more per test for a max +3d10. His current Magic is 6 so he will test with 6d10 as a base score. Please note that slaves become Ballies possession even if not sacrificed.

Empowerment tests are extended Runecraft checks each test taking one month. Empower is the number of successes  needed. In one roll it would be Empower-1 DoS. Ballies base value to test at this point is 121% and one might suck up to the Zarina to get him a blessing but thats something for the buyer to arrange. Ballie is quite patient after all.

Finally it takes 1d10 days to finish up the item. Soaking it in blood and dedication to the Father of Darkness.

As of now each Hand has a dedicated Runesmith working for him to speed up the line. Same quality but Mag 3 (Mag 4 chaos Dwarves don't work but are known as fine garden gnomes ;-) Thats about one Rune per 2 months. Good thing is that they can work on 2 runes at one time.

Further with so many apprentices needing to learn the craft a blooming trade in temporary runes has sprung up. A temporary rune usually lasts one minute after activation and an apprentice needs 40 minutes +20 minutes X inscription number. (A rune per day if you are to lazy to do the math)

Temporary runes cost a mere 15 gold crowns a piece. Master Runes though taking equally long are 50 gold as only the most skilled craftsmen can make those. Further same rules apply as for permanent runes.

A special item mass produced by the Forge is the Forge Pot. A clay jar with a temporary Rune of Eternal Fire and some oiled dung. It burns for 8 hours and is enough to warm a tent and make a small meal on. And this all for a mere 2 gold. Those who take care of the pot can get a refill for merely one gold.

As of now Balthrok has the ability to break the laws of runes corrupting them and forcing them to do as he wills. This ritual is atrociously expensive though but one can get something quite astonishing in return. First of all using this ritual allows Balthrok to craft items that he has already made voiding the doubling costs. Further this ritual allows the application of 2 Master runes, 1 Master rune and 2 regular runes or up to 4 regular runes. And to make things even better those two master runes can be identical and there can even be up to 2 identical regular runes. And this all for the humble price of 70.000 gold crowns. This includes the runes, slaves and special componens needed to craft the item and to entertain the Slaaneshi Demon that has to come help out. On average an item takes 11 months to be completed.

CHAOS ARMOR!!
This master crafted suit of armor is as personal as it gets. One of the main components is the blood of its wielder. Though this probably gets lost in the pile of blood of slaves thats also used to soak this item in blood. 111 Slaves are used in the making of this armor. And you really should ignore the fact that blood mixed with warpstone dust is used to paint on your body. By the end of this process you get a nice piece of chaos armor thats fused to your body.
You want to take it off you say? That is possible but makes you not so tough. (Removes the +5% Tou bonus from the armor but no other penalties) and is available for the mere extra price of 500 gold crowns.
This nice suit of stay on armor is yours for the mere price of 5000 gold crowns and takes only a month to complete.
Best of all. Adding 70.000 gold to this items price allows you to get runes crafted into them as mentioned above. Armor runes are the ones you have to pick for obvious reasons.

Binding a demon to the armor improves the Chaos Armors AP by one. This comes at the cost of a mere 500 gold.

Two more rituals are available. Any armor that is not magical or is imbeud with the extra runes ritual can benefit from the Armor of Hashut ritual. It imbeus the armor with a protective aura forcing the attacker of a wounding hit to reroll the damage dice. This blessing of the father of Darkness is yours for a mere 500 gold crowns.

Lastly there is a Khornate ritual that can be performed upon any best quality weapon and imbeus it with a random Khornate weapon gift. As this ritual is one where Balthrok puts himself in danger the price is 1000 gold crowns +the price of the weapon.

Who is Balthrok Deathhammer?

The name Balthrok Deathhammer might not ring many bells even though this master craftsman is the lord of runes. He is the master of an organization called the Bloodforge and where the Dwarf made from pure gold might be less well known the marvels that carry the simple mark of the Bloodforge a droplet suspended over an anvil tell that the items are of superior quality. This organization has monopolized crafts and trade inside Oskarrs camp to the point that any form of competition is either absorbed into his guild or simply vanishes. Balthroks loyalty only lies in cold hard gold and in hoarding as much of it as possible. And at this point he believes Oskarrs side brings him the greatest chance of wealth. On the field of battle Balthrok brings to bear an elite unit of Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guards and a wide range of artillery that prefer to fight from a safe distance. One might call him a coward but with so many humans around to die willingly why sacrifice those loyal to him? Balthrok is so arrogant he refuses to speak any but the Dwarven tongue though its well known he understands most languages spoken in the camp. It is rumored he is so arrogant he even speaks his magical incantations in Dwarven.
