The woman currently called Fights For Both Tribes was born Elisha Cohen in Boston, Massachusetts to a family of Hasidic Jews. The family moved out West to seek their fortunes in Deadwood some years ago. Elisha had always been less than content with the strict upbringing, and had often clashed with her father, who ruled the Cohen family with an iron fist. A few months after they arrived in Deadwood, she ran away from her family to escape an arranged marriage and sought asylum with the Lakota, eventually joining their tribe and adopting their ways. Due to her heritage, she took the name Fights For Both Tribes. She married a fierce Lakota brave by the name of Running Wolf, becoming his third wife. Despite many, many attempts she was unable to bear him any children, and eventually found herself less in his favor. At such times, she sought solace of the Spirits, and found her calling. When her husband was slain in battle by a Pawnee warrior, became close with the other wives of Running Wolf in ways that the tribe found inappropriate. Shunned, she went on a vision quest to seek answers after her future. Before the tribe's judgment would be pronounced, she left them, though she held on to the ways of the People. She has now come to Dodge City, where she seeks further answers to ail what troubles her spirit and what troubles the world.
