Maxine Williams

Name: Maxine 'Max'  Williams
Age: 26
Age Apparent: Early 20's
Race: Werewolf
Years as Werewolf: Fresh turned (< 6 months)
Moon cycle: Waxing moon
Status: Loner

Appearance: At a height of 5'4" and a weight of roughly 107lbs give or take, Max is an average but considerably decent- looking young woman. Her hair flows in medium to darker brown waves over her shoulders to mid back but most of the time it's styled or pulled partially or fully up leaving only her side-swept bangs. Her eyes are a brilliant blue with facets of gold and green that can shift their color depending on the light and what colors she's wearing. She's got an easy going nature about her and that can be seen in the clothing she usually wears outside of work. Jeans, sweaters and shirts that fit her frame but don't reveal too much, most of it recent enough in style thanks to the higher end thrift shops popping up around her work. Occasionally on a more relaxed day a hoodie or sweatpants may make it into the mix as well. Her fashion might not be considered high but it's at least current and own par for most women her age. Her work outfits vary from more professional black pants and sweater-like tops for lunch hours to tighter and more revealing jeans, tank tops and boots for when she bartends. Makeup is also something that shifts it's look depending on where she is, lunch and socially she takes a more natural approach, light colors for her eyes and lips, not much else needed for her clear and average skin-tone. For nights at the bar it's usually heavier, more sultry makeup for eyes and lips respectively. She can also be seen always carrying at least a messenger bag and her camera, occasionally several other bags weighing her down.

Area of Expertise: Art History and Photography

Primary Skills: -Stronger senses. More coming soon.-

Secondary Skills: She's a decent cook and drink maker thanks to her two jobs and 'office friendships' with the cooks there. Thanks to her father she also possesses various survival skills and useful tips for events such as fire, kidnapping, car accidents, shootings and stabbings. Her photography skills have been honed over time as have her record-keeping ability for keeping track of billing for freelance gigs. Her organizational skills when it comes to note-taking and academia are spectacular, most of her classmates bumming off the notes she'd taken later rather than keeping their own (this organization does not carry over to her living quarters). She has an eye and a memory for detail also honed by years of working and focusing behind lenses. Painting and sketching while not her strongest skills provide occasional outlets and she's best at photo-realistic portraits and still life. She also has a good ear for music and can play the guitar quite well, a skill taught by her father, and has a decent singing voice but one that is without training.

Profession: Max holds several jobs that keep her busy most of the time. A part time student in the visual arts (with a focus in photography and a minor in art history) she's finally managing to finish her Bachelors degree. She also juggles that while working as a waitress during lunch shifts at a higher end restaurant in the business district before making her way to a music club in the Arts district and tending bar most nights. Her goal is to eventually be a journalistic photographer though she'd be willing to take model shots and promotional photos if the job required.

Personality: Despite some heavy losses in her life Max manages to keep a smile on her face and a positive energy around her that patrons of her lunch job and the bar might deem infectious. She'll engage most people in conversations and may even do her best to help them should she think herself able to. She seems to have many acquaintances or conversational friends but few to no 'real' friends though through no fault of her own. The amount of time she spends working or studying tends to leave little room for a social life and when she gets precious little time for it she often spends it sleeping or relaxing. She's always polite and trusts people easy enough though she's not stupid and holds enough street smarts to keep out of most bad situations. She's a very hard worker, academically minded and is able to pick up most mundane skills easy enough with a little more practice needed at things that are harder for her such as things in the areas of math or science.

Background: Max has always had an eye and a flair for the more artistic aspects of life and those traits were fostered by both her mother and father from a young age. Maxine was born to a loving family with a florist for a mother and a fireman for a father, both who made sure to remain actively involved in their child's upbringing despite a lower income and longer hours at the office. When she was five Max lost her mother to illness, something both parents had tried to shield from her until the actual loss hit. From that time on it was her and her dad living together and supporting each other as best they could. When she was a bit older Max did her best to keep the house clean with taking care of the cleaning and cooking, making sure her father was eating right and excersizing, determined not to have her other parent lost the same way. By the time she was a teen Max had owned her first camera for a few years and been featured in her school's photography show as well at a few cafes in the area. Despite her father's lower salary and her need to keep a job to support them a bit better, she'd been accepted on scholarship to study Photography.

She'd been studying a year and was about to end her summer break when Katrina hit. The house her and her father shared had been spared heavier damage, some flooding taking out the lower floor and some family heirlooms they hadn't had time to move before her Dad left to help those in the areas hit the hardest. Things seemed like they'd be alright once the storm passed and Max managed to stay sheltered enough through the start, keeping close to the battery powered radio for updates. Then the levees started to break.

It took 2 weeks for them to arrive after the storm calmed and tell her they'd found her father's body. He'd been with several other of his buddies and a group of civilians in a flooded out section of housing. While it wasn't clear exactly what had happened the widely held belief was they were reinforcing a sandbag wall or trying to evacuate those in the area when a levee breached sending water rapidly into the area and washing them away. As a result she still seems to suffer from agitation and heavier anxiety during heavier storms.

After the funeral she started rebuilding her life, occasionally wandering and snapping pictures of the areas and people around her hit hardest and where her dad died, corpses still being found, some by her when she wandered. Eventually she moved what she could to a small storage unit and moving to a smaller apartment into the city. She was granted a leave from school for a year to get her affairs in order and a work schedule down, after which she returned to school a part-time status. She's since fallen into a comfortable yet exhaustive routine that was free from too much stress.

It wasn't until a few months back when she was attacked that things started to shift again. She didn't remember much of what actually happened with the exception of waking up while being loaded into an ambulance, an EMT beginning to calmly question her and explain what had happened. Since then things have started to change for her, despite not liking the taste of meat she's been craving it more, blacking out for periods of time at night, missing shifts at the bar and other things. While she's heard rumblings of other things lurking in the city and has an idea of what she might be she finds herself hating the idea and fighting the new part of her with every fiber of her being.
