When on a case, Knox walks with purpose, shoulders squared to his destination, eyes locked in with tight focus.  He is abrupt, direct and uninterested in conversation unrelated to his prevailing focus.  He can be dismissive and abrasive, but only regarding things not salient to his case. He keeps his hair short and maintains a neat, organized appearance.

When he's in-between cases, or when his overall workload isn't heavy enough, he gets distracted and mercurial.  He spends a lot of time in his head, going over puzzles, thinking about music, ultimately very difficult to access.  He's random and flustered, desperately seeking the mental stimulation he craves.  He can get quite agitated, especially if what he's trying fails to give him what he needs.
